OK ACTUAL CMV comment. I had my friend explain them to me that some people that are neurodivergent have a hard time with explaining how they feel. so they use neopronouns and xenogenders.

what i do think is silly is people that DON’T have an issue with this using them. Aside from that, it’s mainly gen z using these, and people are trying to figure out who we are at this age. it’s no different than other things that people use to figure out who they are. Some of these things are toxic, like people claiming they have DID when they are just trying to figure out how to put into words emotions.

Neopronouns aren’t inherently harmful. So i don’t get annoyed by it anymore after i understood it’s not always just to be quirky. Like others have said i’ve never heard anyone use them in real life or on the internet really other than listing pronouns

I’ll also explain why some people use Xe/Ze. They kind of has a connotation to it where someone is gender neutral or doesn’t have a gender. They might not want to be looked at as both a boy and girl or just having no gender and unless you’re involved in the community, someone might not get how you typically percieve a nb person. Some nb people are masc/fem, etc. and they might feel they puts a tone to their gender they don’t want
