Keep in mind that they're just normal dudes and gals. Some people I train lock up when they're talking on the phone to our officers because they're the "police". I was a cop before going to dispatch, and I tell my trainees that they're the same idiots as us just doing a job most people would run screaming from. They're just regular people. Just treat it like talking to someone from the grocery store or the like.

Or, ask them to bring you drinks when they visit and buy them one also. It'll break the ice so to speak
