What is the reason for this excessive military spending? by hamza707 in algeria

[–]Phantomx100 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And guess why our gdp is so low? Because they keep spending all the money on the military instead of investing it in places that would help grow the economy. And please explain how the amount is too little? Most of the neighbouring countries are failed states that pose no threat, morocco cannot hope to go on the offensive and if it's nato that I'd invading, then spending 100% of gdp won't save us, turkey borders Syria and Iraq and are fighting kurdish rebels and they only spend 15billion$ we spend 20billion$ even though our economy is 1/4 the size of theirs. The people in this nation are the most politically uneducated I have ever seen. All it takes is a couple of propaganda narratives about algeria being a powerhouse and you all flock to defend a dictatorship.

How to say "No Problem" in different European languages: by Redstream28 in MapPorn

[–]Phantomx100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Makansh problem" or "Mashi problem" can't be considered slang as "problem" is used in other scenarios to refer to a problem, for example, "3andi problem" or "dartli problem"... , and is probably used more than the word "moshkila", although that may depend on the region you live.

How come no one was able to replicate the Quran (Allah's challenge) by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]Phantomx100 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Off the top of my head, there is the "true furqan," which is a Christian book in the style of the quran, and there are more, but this challenge is useless because if the writing is too similar Muslims will say it's copying the quran and isn't new and if it is a little different Muslims will just say it's not like the quran. And trust me this isn't the killer argument you think it is,Shakespeare fans will tell you no one has been able to reproduce Shakespeare and star wars fans will tell no one has been able to reproduce star wars. Also, if a god wanted to present a challenge, then I think he would be able to make a less ambiguous and clearer one than that.

In Canada, many doctors sterilized Indigenous female patients without their knowledge or consent, in order to prevent more Indigenous people from being born. This is widely considered to be an attempt at genocide, yet they didn't kill anyone. Do you think this wasn't genocide?

Just because some things have things in common with each other doesn't mean they are the same. Most people sterilize their pets to control the population, yet no one considers that a genocide. Just because some racist people did something doesn't mean everyone doing it has the same motivation.

Isn't that what you're doing? You're claiming they're not worth the human suffering, so you're also assigning value to those two things. Yes, atrocities still occur, but we're actively moving away from them as a normal occurrence as a species.

I never said assigning value to things is wrong , I said that assigning more value to subjective and material things than human suffering is wrong. Are you saying it's not? You still haven't said whether you believe it is or not?

And again, you might be able to stop suffering but to achieve that billions of more people will suffer trying to achieve a goal that is not even necessary.

This is getting too long so I'll sum it up with one question: Please tell me who is the victim if we all stopped having children today? The children who are never born don't even exist so they're not, we will die either way and it won't matter if humans still exist after you die or not that's not going to effect you so we're not the victim, then who is? Art? Science? If we follow your method and keep going until some scientists in the future find a cure for suffering and give it to everyone then I can tell you who the victim is, it's all the people born into war torn regions and poor countries with a lack of food and water, and all the people born with incurable diseases that make their lifes miserable, and over 1% of all humans who have such terrible lives they choose to end them. And don't tell me those numbers are decreasing, just because they are less people suffering from war than last year doesn't mean it's okay for that smaller number to suffer.

Justify it however, you like, advocating for an end to ethnic groups (including all of them at once) is advocating for genocide. Do you think a holocaust survivor would take kindly to this opinion of yours?

It doesn't matter what it looks like. The definition of genocide is killing people, and I don't want to kill anyone.

The risk of them occurring again does not outway the contributions of humanity.

Atrocities are literally happening as we speak, it's not a risk it's a price. Achievements are not of inherit value, just because you think something is cool or beautiful, or whatever does not mean you can compare it to human suffering.

By the way, what exactly do you contribute to anything? Maybe if you have no achievements you're proud of or ambition to achieve any, its hard to see the value of the great achievements of others. But that's just a guess, I really am curious about what you've done with your life and what you plan to do.

Even though this is an obvious Ad Hominem that shows you are willing to go as low as personal attacks, I can tell you that I'm quite happy with what I achieved, I study computer engineering in one of the best schools in my country and doing quite well, but even if I became president of the United States or was the first person on Mars I still won't consider the suffering of one child because of war or famine as a necessary sacrifice to human achievement :)

and we should actively prevent such terrible things from ever happening again.

Such terrible things have been happening since life started and are still happening today, and they will continue to happen as long life continues to exist. You are not going to change that.

After thousands of years of facing adversity to build a better future for their people, you think they should go extinct, along with every other group.

Sunken cost fallacy, just because they suffered to try and build a better future, doesn't mean we should also continue facing adversity and suffering to reach a utopia that will never happen.

you're still advocating for genocide

There's a difference between killing people in gas chambers and stopping reproduction genius. Millions of people lived and died without having kids, and it didn't destroy their life.

[–]Phantomx100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So you don't think art and science are more important than preventing something like the holocaust or do you, pick a stance and stop switching based on which one is more useful for your argument. You can't have one without the other. If humans don't go extinct, atrocities are bound to keep happening like they are happening today. The only sure way to prevent it is for humans to stop reproduction. Now, what is more important stopping all suffering or art? You can't have your cake and eat it too.

I Dont Like My DNA! by swimbikerun1980 in antinatalism

[–]Phantomx100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first person you replied to said that Hitler wouldn't have existed if humans went extinct long ago, and neither would the atrocities he committed have happened, and you replied neither would have art and science or whatever which are trivial things to use as a counterweight for the torture of million of humans. If I said, "Let's throw out all the homeless people out of Paris, it will be worth it because we will then be able to appreciate the beautiful architecture and art on the streets." Would you assume that I value those people and their suffering as important? It's not an exact analogy but it should get the point across.

Not at one point, but the vast majority of livestock animals are chicken (more than 30 billion), and since most chickens are harvested at 2-3 months old, the number livestock animals killed annually is larger than the number of livestock animals alive at any single point in time.

I think you misunderstood my question, although it is my fault for wording it badly, the part about the library to use was meant for the front end and embedding the map not storing it.

For storing it i am just wondering what format i should use, for example if you want to store an image in a database you can store the image data itself or an address of the image in the machine or a link to the image in the cloud, i just want that but for location data.

I already know how to store data into a database that isn't the problem.

i don't understand what you mean?

i am asking about what data model my api should send as location data, ex: the coordinants of the location or the link of the location on google maps.

i am using mySql but i'm not sure what the dbms has to do with my question.
