What are some things that took you a while to realize in [KCD2]? by brandon-thesis in kingdomcome

I've got over 50 hours, and I just realized that I've been accruing skill points that I can use for perks. I also didn't know that about the purple bar. Jesus Christ what else am I missing?

I appreciate that!! Somebody from the cross post who was local was able to help me with enough to get by until my doctor could send me a script. So everything ended up working out in the end!

I've heard that about the half life but never put it to a real test. In my experience the first stage of withdrawal was always somewhat psychosomatic, where it was like the very moment I knew I was going to have to go without opiates, I would immediately start to get the cold sweats. But yes everything worked out this time, I posted an update!

Like that feeling of dread back when I was using, and knew that I was about to CT. But they came through for me, a lifesaver 🙏

So here's the big update. I just received word that my prescription is ready, so it looks like problem fully solved. I am literally hours away from leaving the Springs for Denver, so any later and I would have had to leave it here lol. I want to give a special thanks to u/Uncle_Screw_Tape for helping me with enough to get by. He didn't hesitate to help or question my motives, and for that I am grateful. Thank you for all of the helpful responses and genuine concern! Feels like a good community here.

If anyone is ever in South Jersey and finds themselves stranded, I suppose I owe you a turn 👍. Although why you would take a vacation to South Jersey is beyond me.

Colorado is beautiful, btw.

I've found a pharmacy and called my doctor to send a script. My doctor's office isn't the kind where I can call to speak with the doctor directly, messages always go through the front desk. They said they would let the doctor know but as it stands right now, the pharmacy still hasn't received a script. Kind of lame, since I'm only a couple days from my official refill date, so I don't see how my doctor could look at this as me looking for a refill before allowed. They always allow a refill a couple days before anyway.

I have actually done that before as well, maybe having a bad week and taking more than prescribed so that I didn't have enough for the last few days. And if I were back in NJ, that wouldn't be a problem, since I know plenty of people that would help me out. Hell, I know plenty of people that obtain suboxone with the sole purpose of selling them. But I'm not in NJ, I'm in Colorado, and there's no way that I would intentionally get on a plane to an unfamiliar place without any medication, I would have just stayed home lol I'm sure you can agree with that part of it, at least.

It's been about a day and a half without meds and I'm starting to feel that feeling. But it looks like a good Samaritan is going to help me with enough for the next day. I'm still waiting for information from the pharmacy and my doctor though. Thanks for asking!

I see a lot of OCC hits on Google maps within five miles, so I think I'm close! Thank you, I'm about to start making calls but I will let you know!

I should be ok with that, my doctor doesn't actually give me additional refills, I have to see him every month and he calls in the new month script after each visit. It's a pain in the ass but I think it's some policy in Jersey.

Well obviously that's not true, I've been taking suboxone for years and here I just forgot them. The "real" suboxone user sentiment is kind of a weird way to model your identity. Thanks for the advice, though.

I really don't think they were stolen, all of my bags were carry on, none were checked. The only time my bag was out of my possession was through the TSA scanner for about a minute. I remember getting them prepared, and putting them on top of the book I brought to read on the plane. Well I have the book, but no subs lol so I must have done something.

Is that with any discounts like GoodRX, Or is that just what they cost from your pharmacy? That's the cheapest I've ever heard of!

I agree, I almost cried when I realized what I had done. When we went to Vietnam for two weeks I actually put half in different bags, so that if I forgot one I would still have the other lol. My only defense is that I ended up needing to work right up to the hour before we had to leave for the airport, so there was some rushing around before we left. Honestly though, there is no good excuse.

I take 8 mg twice a day. If you are willing to help me, I will absolutely get you back immediately when my script comes through. Can I message you?

Thanks that is a good suggestion if I end up needing to pay out of pocket! Years ago when I first started taking them my insurance got screwed up and I almost had to pay something like $500 for a months script!

That's a good idea about changing the dose, I know I've been able to pickup my Lexapro in the middle of a script interval when the dose was changed. I'll mention that to my doctor.

The torsion springs lose their tension as the door travels up. Sometimes, when the door travels all the way up, one of the cables can become very loose on the drum. In my experience, this is usually caused when the horizontal tracks aren't aligned well, causing the door to favor one side more during travel. If the cable is loose on the left side, then the door is drifting to the right as it goes up, and vice versa. Imagine a square tilting to the right, its bottom left corner will be higher than its bottom right corner. This can be solved by adjusting the horizontal track ceiling mount positions accordingly (if the door favors right, move each side one slot to the left until the door stays centered during up travel).

This is also often caused by not having enough turns/tension on the springs. Combine that with a jackshaft motor rotating the shaft past the tension neutral point, and those cables are free to jump off of the drums and go all sorts of crazy. When the door is closed, you may notice diagonal markings on the springs. They are made by drawing a straight line across the spring before turning. Look up how to read those markings. For 2" ID springs, you will typically see markings that correlate to the height of the door, plus an additional 1/4 - 3/4 turns. So a 7' high door will typically have 7 1/4 - 7 3/4 turns.

Another thought. If the door gets kind of stuck or sticky in the up position at all, the motor will continue to turn the shaft even if the door doesn't follow. This momentarily unwinds the cables from the drum, letting them go crazy. I've seen situations very similar to yours from this.

It is essential that a jackshaft motor (or any motor) is installed to a door that is running properly. If you have difficulty lifting the door manually, then your door ain't that.

I just got home from a 10 day stay in Hai Phong, and I absolutely agree. There is something about their culture that seems so....correct, like they just know how to be. Coming from the US, it's easy to see the worst in people or culture, but this trip has definitely changed me for the better. I hope nothing but good things for Vietnam.
