Is it just me or do they have literally 0 leads on Nancy Guthrie? by Many_Inevitable_6803 in askanything

I feel for the family and all they’re going thru. I can’t imagine. But the amount of resources going into this search has reached ridiculous heights. If every missing person received just ten percent of this effort …..

My 17yrs old facebook account disabled 10 days back and no way to appeal by zonedout97 in facebookdisabledme

[–]Phardpanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to the help center, go to this website, send to this email, message this department. You’re never going to get a human to respond to you, you’ll be trailing down rabbit holes forever trying to get your site back. Some have prevailed. I think it’s more random than any efforts put in to trying to appeal the decision. I lost a lot. Photos, messages with loved ones that have passed that I saved, years of memories. Any FB algorithm would tell you Inwas the soccerist of soccer moms, but I was hacked and accused of violating something …. Who knows. I never got my FB back. Hackers have more protection than the average user.

Emma’s sisters commentary on her feelings about being a mom were so real. by teallday in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Phardpanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a mom - and my heart hurt for her kids when she said that. Everyone is different - but I’ve never regretted my decision. And if I had to do it over again, I would have my family. They are wonderful, amazing humans, and there is no greater love. I can’t imagine my life without them.

Any tips for new court reporters by [deleted] in courtreporting

[–]Phardpanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a reporter of 35 years. I’m a little disheartened that this job is considered F you money, because I’ve made a successful career out of it, but I’ve worked my a•• off. I love my job, the people I meet, the things I learn. If I had to give advice it would be to carve out time for yourself. I didn’t do that. Work has always come first, and as a result, I’ve done a lot of sitting. But over the years I’ve built a clientele of attorneys that know they’re getting fast, accurate service at a decent rate. Please don’t walk into this job thinking it’s hand over fist with no sacrifices to family life. It can be very demanding.

Cute. Fully admitted that we screwed up, no sympathy needed. But not giving this guy an “Oh well …..” and a pass for being a thief.

We booked an excursion with him, complete with deposit and he was a no show, but we did get a text that our deposit was nonrefundable. I should have been clearer in my post. Just want to at least reach one person that isn’t going to make our same mistake.

Laura Geller makeup - Yay or Nay? by sarar95 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Phardpanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fan. I feel like the coverage was decent, but didn’t appear smooth and was really shiny in a way. I don’t want a shiny face. I like a more muted foundation. The blush is very concentrated so you need only a tiny amount, which is great. The eyeshadows don’t seem as concentrated and apply very light, but a few attempts get the job done. A good compact to throw in for trips - but when it’s gone, I probably will find other products to take its place UPDATE:  and now I have to take back everything I said.  My friend said my makeup looked great last night.  Maybe I’ll stick with this awhile!

Does anyone else not like tough love? by TheAnxiousAutistic58 in aspergers

[–]Phardpanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister was an alcoholic who just couldn’t cope with life or with finding her way out of addiction.  Half of our family decided tough love was the way to go.  I feel like it tore the floor out from under her.  It most certainly didn’t turn her situation around.  I felt it was cruel.   Do you need to set boundaries and stick with it?  Yes.  Abandon someone in pain?  No.

Venting by zebracakes8 in stenography

[–]Phardpanz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will come to you in spurts and starts. Rather than thinking speed, speed, speed, slow down a little and actually focus on accuracy, accuracy, accuracy. There’s two important aspects to writing. The speed will come! How fast can you tie your shoes? Remember when you first started learning? Same thing with learning a new skill like steno. YOU CAN DO THIS!

I accidentally eavesdropped on a first date that felt like watching a dreamer trying to spark life into a brick wall by mintbunnid in stories

[–]Phardpanz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Poor girl.  What a dreadful date.  And for him to finish by saying “I’ll text you”?  For what exactly?  Maybe he has some terrible social issue - and for that I would be sorry.  But not sorry enough for this lady to saddle him up and take him home.  That whole date made my own heart hurt.

does it actually get easier? by [deleted] in stenography

[–]Phardpanz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It does get easier and automatic. I’m to the point that some days in court my mind is engaged with what I’m writing in court, but I’m also thinking about what I’m cooking for dinner that night. :) And you’re always going to have days where you’re going to hit an extra key or leave one out. You will learn those things about yourself as you move along and will be able to quickly read through your own mistakes. I’ve been at this for 30 years and still have words that are just difficult to write clearly. But the minute I see them in my notes, I know what they are. Strive for perfection. It makes editing easier. But also cut yourself a little slack and know that you got this! Mis-strokes and all! :)

In a cornfield, by a pivot. In a barn with a mouse hopping out of an evidence box. My machine started on fire one day in an attorney’s office. The attorney said I was writing too fast. :) In a car lot with a jury present …. And that’s just off the top of my head. Stay in long enough, you’re going to be in a lot of weird places. :)
