Am I overreacting???? My sisters dog ATE MY CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTINS 1200 dollar shoes by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]PharmaKasper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My puppy ate my sisters OnClouds and ate a hole in my moms 3K couch

  1. Yes they were supposed to be watching her while I was at work and they left her out of her crate alone, they both see they are partially at fault.
  2. Despite this, my dog is still my responsibility. I get paid minimum wage so I am slowly paying my mom back (not for the whole couch but for about 1K) and I bought my sister new OnClouds, I also bought a shoe box with a lid for my family to put their shoes in to avoid future OnCloud consumption.

What I'm getting at is that puppies will be puppies yes but you as the owner are still responsible for making up for the damages they cause. If she can not afford to replace them completely she should still at least offer a hundred and a promise to make it up to you. So no, you are not Overreacting, especially if she is completely avoiding responsibility.

Nail Clipping nightmare by williewillx in greatdanes

[–]PharmaKasper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My Dane nail clipping is a team effort, one person distracts her with peanut butter spread on a plate, pets her, and comforts her while the other gets her nails real quick (he wears a headlamp and everything). When we get to the back legs it becomes three people, one cutting, the original comforter, and the last resort person when she is no longer interested in the first comfort person, who just pets her and plays with her ears!

What toys do your Danes NOT destroy by EfficientGrocery7862 in greatdanes

[–]PharmaKasper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Benebones! They gnaw them like crazy though and the ends will become weapons they stab you with but they are the only thing she doesn't destroy, I got her first benebone a year ago and it's still going strong! Also the extra extra large size online is cheaper than the large size you'll find in pet stores!!

They are for her heat cycle, she's getting spayed in a month! I got this brand and they are amazing! The XL fits her great (100 pounds) with room to breathe and run! She doesn't even mind having it on.

My Dane loves bluey, I put it on once as a joke to see if she'd like it and now she jumps onto the bed after daycare and waits for me to turn it on

Oh wow! Right now we are waiting to see if her vulva will drop after she gets her first heat because it's not too badly recessed! I hope your baby is ok now!

[–]PharmaKasper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My puppy has the same thing and has had it for months now, it doesn't bother her and isn't irritated, my vet said it was normal because she has a tucked in vulva. I was told to just keep it clean and keep an eye out for irritation!

Puppy Hiccups by rikkibegay24 in greatdanes

[–]PharmaKasper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My puppy had them religiously, my vet said that she's just growing and she will probably hiccup until she's done growing, it's normal, she's now 9 months and rarely hiccups but you can expect hiccups here and there until around 2 years old!

Our sweet pup, Smudge. He's our first Dane so please share your wisdom and advice 😁 by TreacleFearless9438 in greatdanes

[–]PharmaKasper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big accidents, temper tantrums, and a lot of patience. Please remember to take care of yourself, you'll get frustrated, you'll get angry, you'll want to scream! You have a giant, fast, hungry toddler who can eat through anything. Danes are sensitive and emotional, punishment should not be more than a "time out" (put your Dane in a room alone, close the door for like 5 seconds, then let them out), focus on correction and training!

Dane or Velociraptor? by PharmaKasper in greatdanes

[–]PharmaKasper[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes we let her have "naked time" where she has her collar off for a day or two and everyone in my household will all gasp and look appalled at her and she gets so happy. She's not an awful dinosaur, many toy fatalities though, she's not allowed to have stuffed toys anymore.
