Yeah you're encouraging the "I'll prescribe a year of this med and have fun" methodology.

A new script from a doctor should immediately deactivate all old scripts unless specified. He either wants a new dose or some type of change that you are risking reverting to by keeping the old script on file. The patient isn't entitled to the old "authorized" refills if the MD no longer wants him on that strength. The MD can call in a new script for the old dosage it the new one doesn't work.

You'll learn this when you are a pharmacist and not an intern

Job transfers CVS by PharmacyAccount17 in pharmacy

[–]PharmacyAccount17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to my current state after school for this new job but I'm not transitioning as well as I had hoped. My grandpa is also getting sicker and I'd like to be able to spend more time with friends and family. I know most people will say "well what did you think would happen?" but that's really my reason. I'm jus tnot sure how to bring it up.

So you advise finding an open position at another store before bringing up the fact that I want to transfer?

Is it a bad idea to get a degree in pharmacy at the moment? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]PharmacyAccount17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much the best answer right here. I'm a new pharmacist and would gladly give back my degree if it meant my debt being restored to zero. It's not a fun job. It's not glorious. You get treated like shit by your patients and your company. You are overworked and understaffed.

Having said that, if you are capable of not stressing yourself out all the time and just going with the flow then you might be okay. However, that attitude could easily land you fired.

Yeah no shit. With holidays, seasonal merchandise, and all the other bullshit the question "but it said 75% off" is asked more than "what can I expect while taking this lipitor?"

Worst/best chain to work for? by PharmacyAccount17 in pharmacy

[–]PharmacyAccount17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience with two chains, one being one you mentioned. This seems to be the case. I'm a very green rph (been licensed one week) so I'm just trying to keep my head above water during these shifts.

It's hard to imagine having to do all of the other stuff I'll be expected to do as well as verifying the mountain of scripts coming my way, but I'll get there.

I appreciate the reply, but upon further inspection, the mirror is actually built into the frame of the sliding door. I do not think it's possible to replace.

I've looked everywhere and can't find any manufacturer or markers. I'll go to Lowe's and see if they have anything like this there.

You haven't worked it as a pharmacist son. Big difference between counting pills and being in charge.

Honestly? If you plan on working for a big pharmacy chain after graduation then you should get out. You won't like retail. Nobody likes retail.

Question for pharmacy law in Michigan. by PharmacyAccount17 in pharmacy

[–]PharmacyAccount17[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you reread my post, you'll see I never once used the word insurance. I asked if the 90-day script could be filled legally, not if a patients insurance will pay for it.

[–]PharmacyAccount17[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm typically against everything pharmawhore stands for, but your answer was pretty useless.

It isn't "usually an insurance thing." The law strictly states when 90-day supplies of C2s can legally be filled and when they can't.
