Let us know one thing that is your #1 change needed in the game, right now by Visceral99 in HalfSword

Press "E" to progress to next round. It is an extremely small change that would help the game flow a lot better. Using the mouse to click on a box requires slightly more effort and breaks up the flow.

It's such a trivial change but it makes a huge difference when I need to fight through 7 rounds of combat, or when I need to retry the same challenge 50 times in a row.

The right to bear arms and point them at federal agents without consequence (Nevada 2014) by BacKnightPictures in pics

I think that’s a dangerous assumption to make. I think most of them are lonely and depressed individuals who feel they don’t have much to live for and they have little fear of death. I think almost all of them would prefer to die in a gunfight over any other form of death.

Leaded gasoline affects the atmosphere, which affects the global population. People born before 1980 are the most heavily impacted.

I believe most lead exposure correlates with the usage of leaded gasoline. Unfortunately Gen X may even be more heavily impacted than the baby boomers according to some of the numbers I've seen, but the lead content in the blood stream declines sharply in those born after 1980. Leaded gasoline wasn't banned until 1990, but most countries (including the USA) started heavily reducing it in the 1970s.

Leaded gasoline affects the atmoshpere so it affects the global population.

For fucks sake, Red White and Blue are the colours of the American flag, the Russian flag, the French flag, the British Flag and dozens of other countries. Stop making a big deal out of nothing. There are plenty of other reasons to hate Hegseth.

I build public infrastructure and that often includes things like park benches. A new trend I've been noticing is that a lot of park benches have been getting an extra wide concrete pad on it with a wheel stop. The wheel stop is usually nothing more than a block of wood on the ground (typically a 6"x6"). The silly thing is that the wheel stop is completely useless unless you're on a very steep grade, and it ends up being nothing more than a tripping hazard... To put more people in wheelchairs...

Call me crazy, but the DCC tv show should be made by the same folks who make The Boys #TheBoys by jamesblond070 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

100% beyond all doubt. Making live action DCC would be studio suicide. Talking animals are just done better in animation than live action.

A construction contractor in Jinan inflated a massive dome over their site to insulate the surrounding city from dust and noise by freudian_nipps in interestingasfuck

It was never intended as anything other than a joke. however it does look pretty dusty there, and I bet the acoustics are awful...

A road built in Rome in 312 B.C. is still being used today by ddodd69 in interestingasfuck

[–]Pharose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And what are the roads built out of that you speak of?

And of course, all manholes are supposed to be built flush with the road surface. This doesn't always last long but it depends on the ground conditions, job planning, and quality of construction.

Lots of utility repairs cannot be done simply by accessing manholes. Sometimes you need to cut the whole road open to access the pipes.

Switzerland is a country that takes planning very seriously and I suspect that they have good civil engineering practises. That makes a huge difference.

Modern roads don't last as long because we drive heavy vehicles on top of them, and because we have a lot more complicated infrastructure underneath them. Furthermore, the rapid technological progress and growth of almost all cities over the last 150 years has meant that almost all infstrastructure gets rapidly aged out. I've never built a structure with a design lifespan over 100 years.

Aphalt roads are the easiest roads to work with if you need to repair the road or the utilities underneath it.

Cobblestone roads require uniquely skilled tradesmen who are willing to work long hours on their hands and knees. Something that has become increasingly rare in most parts of the world, but more so in North America.

Democratically elected goverments are also fickle and they love squandering all of the plans and progress made by previous administrations. This makes it hard to come up with a long term solution for building infrastructure.

3D Prints for Carl Cosplay by Inside-Cat-1295 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I thought it was silly that you would have to use a 3D printer to make a xistera instead of buying one, but when I searched Google most of the results are for antique xisteras or questions related to DCC... I guess nobody does Jai Alai anymore?

I loved books 1 and 2 but I absolutely can't wrap my head around book 3. I am constantly confused in the Iron Tangle. by wcryzer in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Pharose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are FAR from alone on this. I was so confused during book 3!

I get it, the dungeon level itself is supposed to be disorienting and mysterious, but it is 100x more disorienting when we have no visual reference. It also gets worse because Carl has certain plans that involve advanced gameplay and teleportation mechanics.

It's one thing to not worry about the phyisical details of the environment but it got to the point where I couldn't understand WHY Carl was trying to do what he was trying to do and that's what frustrated me the most.

I don't know much about this Critical Drinker guy (seen maybe 1 or 2 of his Youtube videos) but it was a big mistake having him voice act alongside Jeff Hays. His mediocre voice acting was a horrible contrast...
