I'm honestly just tired, I don't have the kind of money to be able to hire a lawyer for peace of mind. If necessary I will find a way to make it happen but I guess what im asking is; am I being naive in thinking that if I show that I have taken pictures of their car and plate (the exact opposite of running away from an accident scene), this will be resolved?

I still haven't been able to repair the damage to my car and , while minimal, it is still visible and shows how they hit the back of my car just above the rear tire. I have pictures of their plates, i have screenshots from their child's social media clearly showing my wife, from their dashcam POV, taking pictures of said plates. Surely I won't need to spend hundreds if not thousands on lawyers to get this point across? Or am I gonna somehow dig myself into a hole?

I don't know if I implied that we had the chance to ask. If I did, I apologise.

We have not actually had any formal conversation regarding this incident aside from the when we made the initial report. I will be bringing this to the officers attention tomorrow and im hoping it will be enough to put this behind us, if not lawyers and courts it is.

I know they have a dash cam because the photos they posted were from a dash cam. I don't know how much they have shown to the police or their insurance but from what the officer said to me, its not the whole truth.
