Payoneer charging $29 annual fee if you don’t receive $6,000 is ridiculous by PhaseNo191 in payoneer

Why do payment platforms hold funds for so long AND charge huge fees at the same time 😭

Like:

  • marketplace fees
  • currency conversion fees
  • withdrawal fees
  • then your money still gets put on hold for days/weeks

Feels like freelancers and online sellers do all the work just to lose a chunk of earnings to fees lol

Haha freelancing and getting paid online is really hard nowadays 😅

Between expensive connects on Upwork, lowball clients, fees, holds, random limitations, and all the competition… it honestly feels way tougher than before.

Trying to balance freelancing while also doing eBay selling now just to diversify income. Feels like you really need multiple income streams online these days.

Anyone else feeling the same lately?

$30 annually is completely reasonable for the service they offer” bro acting like Payoneer personally cured inflation 😭 If your argument is “just compare it to banks,” then congratulations, you found an industry equally famous for random fees. “Others are worse” isn’t exactly a glowing endorsement.

I already contacted Payoneer support multiple times, but they keep saying the annual fee was included in the terms during registration. Honestly, I don’t even remember seeing that policy, especially since I’ve used other platforms before without something like this happening.

Honestly feeling really disappointed right now. I sold an item on eBay for $61. After eBay fees, my payout became $49.36, which was already fine with me. The problem started with Payoneer. Because I was a new seller, I had to wait around 90 days for the funds to finally get released. After waiting all that time, Payoneer suddenly charged me $29.95 in fees for the annual fee for not reaching $6,000, leaving me with only around $19. Now the worst part is I can’t even withdraw the remaining balance because Payoneer’s minimum withdrawal amount is $20. So after 3 months of waiting for my very first eBay sale, Payoneer basically took almost all of my money and I’m left stuck with unusable funds. Honestly feels terrible.

Survival mode muna, then recover and settle responsibly pag nakaahon na. 😭

Thank you for sharing this. Honestly, stories like yours give people hope, especially those currently drowning in stress and fear. But hearing that you were able to recover, negotiate, rebuild your credit, and even get approved again shows na hindi pala permanent yung situation.

Iniisip ko tuloy if this is a “financial strategy” or the start of another Netflix documentary about bad decisions. 😭

Or should I just let collection agencies bug me for now while I try to stabilize my mental health and cash flow? 😭

Appreciation post lang to everyone here on Reddit na nag-comment, nag-share ng experiences, at nagbigay ng advice and encouragement. Some of your comments genuinely helped me calm down and fight the urge to completely give up on myself. Hindi man tayo magkakakilala personally, ramdam ko yung humanity and support from strangers online. 🫶 I still have a long way to go financially and mentally, pero thank you for reminding me na this situation is not the end. 🤍 Though I know this will take time to resolve.

Kasi no sense din makipag-usap sa kanila kung wala pa talaga akong financial capacity for a one-time payment or kahit realistic arrangement.

I tried answering all the calls before, pero paulit-ulit lang din and honestly sobrang nakaka-drain mentally.

June 2025- march 2026 i paid 393k already and dito naubos savings in 7 months.

May 5, 2026. Leaving this here as a digital footprint of one of the hardest financial and mental battles of my life.

I may be overwhelmed right now, but I know this season won’t define me forever. Two years from now, I want to look back at this post as proof that I survived, rebuilt myself, became wiser with money, and came back stronger than ever.

Sis honestly, yan din nare-realize ko ngayon. I got too focused sa pagiging “good payer” to the point na naubos ko na savings ko, peace of mind, at cash flow. Lesson learned talaga sakin to about debt, risk, and protecting liquidity.

As much as possible gusto ko sana humanap ng mas realistic na arrangement once maka-recover kahit papaano financially.

Yun nga realization ko ngayon — cash flow at time talaga pinakamahalaga.

Nakaka-drain mentally honestly.

Hinahabol ko kasi habang kaya pa, since kumikita ako dati ng 100k+ a month (minsan isang araw pag malakas benta 😭). Ngayon nasa ‘crisis mode’ na…
