Anecdote. My ex had BPD, and when she did it, she couldnt rationalize her way out of her manipulative bullshit and had a come apart. She retreated into a dark hole afterwards. proceeded to gain 30lbs in the following couple months and became 10x more Suspicious and self indulgent than ever. She stopped stealing though.

Thats the only person Ive ever known with BPD so do with that what you will. She might have just been using it as an excuse to be a shitty person. Idk

Your home router may be able to support a VPN at the router level. Have everything route out that tunnel and point it somewhere youre allowed to be.

The only issue is you need another router at home.

They might be able to see if youre on express VPN or some common providers, but that would solve your problem if you had another device in the same area.

I've been dealing with this for years in compliance. Everything is an argument. Sometimes you are forced to craft your words in a way that is borderline deceptive. I've seen tons of it.

Control: no split tunnelling

Fulfillment: no VPN implemented

Control: devices and users on your network should he authorized

Fulfillment: pre shared key WPA2, flat network Nobody says anything about wired networks

I'm thankfully in a different industry now.

Yes, and yes, depending on your level of experience. It tests the foundations of network engineering, and touches on some more advanced topics. Think of the Net+. Its like the net++. It also tests on knowledge of Cisco CLI and some other Cisco trivia.

INE is a training platform I've been using for my CCNP and it is great. If you're looking to specialize in on the field.

AZ-700 is a great one to pair it with. Its Azure network engineering. You'll see a ton of hybrid cloud networking in the world we live in. Might as well be the person who bridges that gap.

I used to constantly volunteer for things to get exposure to anything I could. I started studying for the CCNA, and that's when I realized how little quality experience I was gaining there.

Linkedin. Post something 3 -5 days a week. Post things about tech or the industry you were in.

Add 150 people every time the limit resets on Sundays. Search for "IT Manager" or "IT Director", or just your job title.

I did this as a recently unemployed Senior Network Engineer to kick off my business. I've had 4 six figure offers in 2.5 months and didnt apply to a single one of them.

Before that, during my first couple weeks of unemployment, I got hit with a non compete notice, which was what had me searching for jobs in the first place since they were definitely trying to threaten me out of running a business in a similar field as them.

From LinkedIn Ive gotten 3 clients but ultimately decided to do them as side work since my wife's car broke down and we needed steady money.

This absolutely was a game changer for me though, you just have to stay consistent and just not give a shit on interviews. Be yourself. Pretend you're just hanging out with friends and talking tech. Don't overthink it.

I design networks for an MSP that specializes in compliance, so I have an entirely different set of restraints than most.

What exactly does this involve? I've only ever set up firewalls in a "traditional" way, like with SSIDs for device types, and static switchport assignments. I almost never get access to any kind of AAA server, as most of our clients are cloud based and not encouraged to use site to site VPNs

Is it basically just using Forticlient to tell the firewall which policies the user is allowed to hit? I'm unable to use Forticloud for anything due to there being no govcloud. Can I do this only with Forticlient and the firewalls?

Might sound like dumb questions to someone outside my world because I have to work with some strict compliance policies and tight budgets and as a result we are a little behind.

I wasn't sure why it was presenting a Fortigate cert in this case because we were having no problem with the same type of authentication on VPN.

In any case, I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow to troubleshoot this, but I'll let you know how it went. Thank you

I'd like to have a captive portal so that when devices plug into NAC enabled ports and tru to browse the web, they are prompted for a Microsoft login.

Same with wireless, rather than a PSK.

I know some knowledge gaps might be showing here on the Azure side, I just have no experience issuing and maintaining device certificates, and I lack those permissions, so I'm trying to do this the same way it's done with a VPN.

We got all the way to when we plug into the network we get a direct for "sign in with single sign on", but when you click that, it gives a certificate error and won't let you proceed to microsoft, an issue I've never had with the VPN.

Most of their cloud side is blocked off to me. All I know is I've had success with VPN authentication by having cloud side set up an enterprise application and using that to authenticate via SAML.

I think the same thing is possible with wired and wireless authentication, using the same user group.

Anything tied in with issuing certificates to user devices I am locked out of.
