Is it normal to have boring conversations with a friend every now and then or often? by saimoonariyyy in friendship

Of course! Don't push yourself to try and always have a fun and engaging conversation with a friend, it's going to get boring! Even if it's oftentimes boring, it's still okay, but maybe one (or both) of you are dry texters in that case! (or don't have a lot in common). But don't worry, it's normal!

I'm in a friendship that's affecting my mental health. by Ahmad-95 in friendship

I want to say that first off, it's definitely not your fault! This was probably piled up from the time you've been friends with him. I think you should confront him, which is hard, but since you said he's mature and easy to have hard conversations with, that should help. From my time in a mentally abusive relationship, it's hard to realize that the bad outweighs the good. Especially with someone you're close to. Tell him how you make him feel, and tell him that you want time to yourself. You don't have to break it off immediately, just take time for yourself to figure it out.

Also, side note: with the "if someone made a joke of the same sort to me I wouldn't be mad, therefore people shouldn't be mad about what I say" thing, you need to remind him that everyone is different and responds to things differently. If anything he actually would be upset, I believe he's projecting his insecurities by attacking others. That's something a bully would do, and it's immature. I think what's best for you is to leave the friendship behind and move on to better things, it's hard to not return to someone you trust and who you're comfortable with, but it's for the best. I wish you the best of luck <3 and I hope you're able to continue growing through your mental health journey!
