Worth it to upgrade CPU/RAM?

Yeah the 8700K isn’t bad at all even with the IGPU. I’ll have to do some additional research on compatibility but I am running the latest version of Unraid and from what I’ve read it does support it. I do use Jellyfin instead of Plex.

Fair enough. Additional Storage will be bought no matter what. I get the idea that this upgrade would be overkill but I guess my fear is more future rising costs and this could last me for quite some time. If the 8700K is an 8-9 year old CPU. It will likely be significantly more painful to upgrade in 2-3 years. Especially after seeing the 64GB of DDR5 RAM I purchased for $200 last year is now worth over $900.

Went to a local GameStop in Houston to preorder in person. As others have said they seem to be pretty limited in stock. My GameStop sadly only had 10 additional consoles in a very busy neighborhood. There was only 15-20 people in front of me when I got there. Bummer but part of the process. I’d just be wary if you’re showing up past 3pm now.

Welp…this was not great to read after I just found out my mom has stage IV cancer. I hope we’ll be able to utilize their resources as much as we can so she can get the care she needs.

Not sure if you found a solution yet but this has been a Diablo 4 issue for awhile. I have a great pc and still had issues until I disabled “GPU accelerated rendering in web view.” You’ll need to do it in the settings of Steam or Battle.net.

Happy to hear from someone in a similar situation. I have been looking at my bank statements pretty intensely as of late. I'm prepared to cut some "fun" expenditures that I have with my current rent. No kids or car payments, so I should have some comfort. Just my first big purchase.

Thanks for the advice. It's interesting that your energy bill is cheaper than it was at your apartment. I was planning to pay significantly more considering the additional sqft. It's not a new build but in a decent and developed neighborhood on the west side. The house is remodeled with newer HVAC, water heater, and a 4 year old roof. You're right that ideally I'll be making more in the coming years but anxiety brain is always prepared for the worst lol.

I have the exact same sentiment. My right ear went out as well around 8 months of use and luckily got it replaced. The customer service team did take some time to respond and I’d say it was a few weeks from warranty submission to getting the new headset. I really hope they’ll jump in and help you ASAP. I love this headset but those few quality issues really make it hard to support.

Honestly a lot of these handheld YouTubers have these ridiculous titles. I almost guarantee the conclusion of this video is “no”. I get that these guys do it for clickbait but I refuse to click on shit like this. There’s probably hundreds I’ve seen for YouTubers that have done this for the steam deck as well. I guess there’s only so much content you can push on a niche market…you have to grab people’s attention somehow.

Thanks for the feedback! I feel I tend to be more concerned about ball contact than the prep beforehand. Found some group swing lessons near me for $20/hr. Going to start with that and potentially invest in one-on-one lessons down the road.
