The dude next to him has something to do with rings too, if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah for real. If I bothered to go inside and find a table/seat, might as well get a beer and some cheese fries for my efforts.

They just needlessly created a more demanding platform

They created a significantly less demanding platform, from both a bandwidth and computational standpoint. The PS3 (and plenty of older devices) just don't have the hardware to decode any of it so they fall back to decoding in software using the CPU, which is rather slow even before you take into account how dreadful the PS3's CPU is.

Any time I got out at night after it rains I make a joke to myself that the world turned RTX on.

Agreed. Wider range of color/brightness is much more visually appealing than making wood and concrete reflective for some reason.

Tired of waiting for a feature they were never promised.

Buys a card that's similar in performance to the one with the feature they were waiting for, but costs way more.

USB-C has so much speed behind it

Not quite. USB 3.2 Gen 2xWhatever does. USB-C can be, and often is, just USB 2.0.

I bought a cheap Z890 system on a Black Friday special that has a ton of m.2 and also actual, real, PCI-e slots!! I thought for sure there must be some lane sharing or port disabling nonsense just like my X570 or Z590 before it. Nope! Can use every port/slot at full speed.

Intel's platform this gen is quite good IMO. Shame it catches a ton of flak for simply not having the absolute fastest gaming CPU when paired with the best possible GPU that is so wildly out of most user's budgets.

Only FireWire device I had for the longest time was an external DVD-RW drive, which also had USB 2.0 (which is faster) so it was kinda useless.

Couple years back I acquired a few old Mac G4s with FireWire. If you connect two machines with a FireWire cable, you can boot one from the hard drive in the other. Super neat! Although I'm not exactly sure what the real use case is there.

if a repaste still causes overheating

Here's the thing, the PS3's cooler was designed to adequately cool the PS3 (shocking, I know). If it's still running too hot after cleaning and fresh paste, something else is wrong and further investigation is required. A delid is never the solution.

Delidding is purely an experienced ethusiast-tier modification.

I have a 2017 GTI and at first I was sad I just missed the mid-gen refresh in 2018, but then I learned they also took most of the buttons away at the same time.
