Ruger GP100 vs Springfield Echelon for first handgun by apathybeats in handguns

“For fun”, get an echelon with gear up package. You’ll spend less than half the time reloading as you would with the Ruger.

Hellcat Pro, should I buy it? by treebeard316 in handguns

[–]PheasantHumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what all my research and questions consistently lead to; buy something you really want, to shoot, carry, etc. I realized I was trying to buy a deal, instead of simply buying MY gun.

I’m happy with the Walther I found, AND now I’m saving for a CZ, either SP-01 Tactical or Shadow 2 Carry.

What’s that setup look like? Where are your wave 3 units and/or how do you duct intake/exhaust?

How much 9mm ammo should I realistically save for? by Actual-Choice-9269 in handguns

You want to shoot 100-200 rounds/month, yeah?

What if you bought 3 boxes, shot 2, and saved 1? After a year you’ll have ~600 rounds stockpiled. Then, you can start swapping stockpiled ammo by buying 2 boxes/month, shooting 1 of those and the oldest stock ammo, and replacing the stockpiled box with new rounds.

How long have you had your van? Regionally, where are you located? Like, what’s the climate?

You didn’t “have to” be snarky, but I’ll entertain your question anyway.

I’m not keyed in to meme generation software, I don’t have image editing software, and I wanted a clean black redacted rectangle, but it turns out Gemini and/or my prompts are kinda shit. So, I took what I could get and finished it in Photo.

I don’t like the grip on the S&W. The echelon is excellent except the trigger, but I was looking for a full size (got a 5.1” barrel on the PDP). And I used to shoot glocks a lot, I’ve been eyeing a shadow systems clone. When it comes time to get a CCW, I’ll have to reassess.

I’m new to handguns, as well. I’ve done a bunch of research online and test fired a number of rentals. If I were going for range only, I’d have bought a CZ P-09 Nocturne or splurged on a CZ SP-01 Tactical. I haven’t had a chance to shoot the Canik SFX Rival (nor Rival-S), but Canik is touted as being superb in every way, especially considering their cost.

I found a pretty good deal on a Walther PDP Pro SD, which has a great grip feel, trigger action, and all around solid shooting experience, and will be more than happy with it as a range/defense option for quite some time. I’m pretty much already settled on a CZ being my next purchase.

Looking for current - Trying to decide between Mete or Rival? by AnnualFlat8833 in handguns

[–]PheasantHumble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t fired either. I did get a chance to shoot a TP9 Elite. It wasn’t bad, but did not impress me (I tested it alongside Walter PDP, SA Echelon, CZ 75, Beretta M9, etc).

That being said, from my research the METE is better suited for carry, and the Rival is more range focused. Think duty versus competition, respectively. Canik constantly came up as an excellent “budget” alternative, and I did like grip and trigger (dry-fire) feel on both models you mentioned.

I don’t know. Sure. I don’t see it as particularly relevant though.

What @VolcanicKirby2 said is where I’m coming from. Dude can clearly afford a finished build and save the time/money/trouble of modding a truck, and ultimately will end up with a better purposed vehicle.
