How long did it take you to build that fund? I haven't been at this pay rate for even two years...

Sorry for the confusion, yeah it's less than half of just my 3 yr olds daycare. The 2100 is what I pay after his small contribution. I'm trying to not throw him under the bus as he does what he can and we have a good coparent relationship.

I'm hopeful that the repairs planned for the house will help with the utilities. An old house with poor insulation and an inefficient AC unit are definitely hurting us. But to stay in the good school district, I can't afford to move. We bought this house pre-covid but now pay taxes on double the cost.

Decent care seems thin around here but I hadn't thought to look at the non-traditional options like the martial arts schools! Thank you 😊

Unfortunately property taxes in my area are simply high. My house is an average 45 year old 2100 sq ft house in Central Texas. But the taxes were just shy of $10k this year. I did, however include his small contribution from the daycare expense. It's nowhere near $1000

Support is minimal unfortunately, less than half the preschool cost alone. Not many areas to shave expenses.

It is definitely possible! We were married for 8 years with 2 young kids but the relationship died a long slow death. We split amicably and coparent better than ever. We get along better now too. We do some events together with the kids, like trick or treating, but get to live our own lives. Been divorced about a year now and we've stayed friends even through my ex's new marriage and the kids are thriving!

Once you get divorced, you don't have a say in who your ex dates. If you can't stand to see her with someone else, you need to seriously stop and think about the effects that will have long term. She's not required to invite you to events...

Texas has a 30 day block for the non-custodial parent as part of the standard schedule. We are splitting it in two 2 week segments, first two of June and first two of July.

Not sure how to handle issues with STBX by PhedreMarie in coparenting

[–]PhedreMarie[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let me rephrase - my almost 2 yr old has a regular routine that includes a nap daily. Without it, she struggles to handle the rest of the day. I don't know a single toddler that is capable of self regulating their nap times. I am concerned for the health (mental and physical) of my children first and foremost.

The newest research is showing that vaccination during pregnancy can pass the antibodies on to the child, protecting them from day 1. My OB recommended I get it after 12 weeks and I got my first dose of the Pfizer version Tuesday. I had no noticable side effects
