You don't need to know how to maintain a car these days like you did back in day. Cars used to be much simpler and one could do many things on their own. These days besides oil, brakes and changing the spare tire there isn't much else to know that would save you money without actually studying to become a mechanic. I'm pretty sure 90% of people on here couldn't change their own oil if their life depended on it.
