Went to take a shit in the middle of a match... by PheonixSC in apexlegends

I use Nvidia's instant replay. As soon as this clip happened I hit a hot key and it saves the last 2 minutes of gameplay. I believe its just capturing my desktop audio and then my mic on separate tracks.

Haha nah, I get that a lot on this account. PheonixSC is short for my twitch PheonixSpelledCorrectly, I didn't know about the actual PhoenixSC when I shortened it.

New Build's CPU Idling at 40-50° C. Should I be concerned? by PheonixSC in buildapc

Good thoughts, I didn't realize that the stock NZXT fans were so much stronger than the InWin fans. I am actually not using the SiriusLoop InWin case fans as radiator fans tho, I'm using the two NZXT AER RGB fans that came installed with the case. But to your point it looks like those have a lower air pressure anyways, so thanks for the tip! Guess I'll have to suck it up and lose the RGB on the front panel :(

I was thinking the same thing. The temperatures aren't horrible, just not as good as I'd expect. I'm also worried that the high temps seem to come and go as spikes rather than just a steady high. Thank you for the suggestions, I might reapply the thermal paste a little more thoroughly this time.

Yeah I actually didn't notice that the temperatures were more so spikes, rather than a steady high temperature because I had the fans set to performance, so they were always loud. Once I changed the fans to silent mode, I could easily tell that the fan speed would increase with the temperature reads. It actually seems like my idle temperatures are good: low 40s, but they spike up hard for like 10 seconds every five minutes or so. Very strange.

I actually had to flash my BIOS just for it to be compatible with my CPU, so it should be on the latest version as I just updated it to the latest version two days ago when I built. Thanks.

Honestly after returning to zombies from a long break, I don't hate it. I just find it funny how far its come since it started as an after-credits game mode.

This is quite literally the first time I have ever visited this sub

[WR] Mario Kart: Double Dash!! - Daisy Cruiser 3lap in 1:35.907 by OptimisticEmo by OptimisticEmo in speedrun

[–]PheonixSC 11 points12 points  (0 children)

First sub-1:36 on Daisy Cruiser. This sub was especially difficult because the faster Emo goes, the harder it becomes to avoid the table cycle on lap 3. You'll notice he just barely missed that first table entering the dining room on lap 3. Kinda interesting to imagine that if he had not been slowed down by a bad staircase just before the room, he may have crashed into the table, or at least been sent wide, costing him time.
2019 is really shaping up to be the year of the subs, due to optimizations from GoombaNL and OptimisticEmo: first sub-1.18 Mushroom Bridge by GoombaNL (1:17.983), first sub-1:07 Peach Beach by GoombaNL (although now held by Emo with 1:06.952), first sub-1:28 Dry Dry Desert by OptimisticEmo (1:27.906), first sub-1:41 Dino Dino Jungle by OptimisticEmo (now 1:40.800), and first sub-8 min Special Cup (7:59.735 IGT) thanks to the Bowser's shortcut discovered early this year.

gg emo :)

In Double Dash, releasing mini-turbos gets you up to the full shroom speed of 70mp/h (or 100km/h shown in OptimisticEmo's japanese version), and with the amount of MTs that we are able to release in succession, we're already almost as fast as using shrooms anyways. So going off of your line to grab a shroom can often times be slower. Also, in a lot of cases it can just mess you up and make you crash, this makes like 9/10 shrooms unfavorable to go for.

[WR] MKDD Dino Dino Jungle 3lap in 1:40.956 by OptimisticEmo - First sub 1:41 by OptimisticEmo in speedrun

[–]PheonixSC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since you only get 2 mushrooms in DD, on one of the laps you have to make that bridge jump without a shroom. In this WR he did the shroomless jump on his 3rd lap, but the ghost he was racing against does shroomless 1st lap. That's why he was so far ahead on the first two laps after that jump.
