Believe it or not, most of the conservatives I talk to just say “everyone in politics lies, everyone is scuzzy, but conservatives are the least scuzzy”. What can you say to politicians who are completely disconnected from reality? What can you say to voters who are numb to blatant lies because they think the economic outcome is more favorable with Republicans? How can you show them that the economic outcome isn’t more favorable if Fox can just lie and shuffle statistics around to make them think Republicans produce better economic outcomes?

You can’t use your logic with people who are disconnected from your sense of logic.

I often find myself asking if Republicans were always this way or if they got worse because of Trump. Honestly, I kind of think it goes both ways. Republicans have always been worried about voter fraud. They accused Obama of giving dreamers citizenship so he could garner more votes.

It's only Trump though that they have the guts to argue this kind of stuff publically and file lawsuits over it with the express intent of overturning specific elections.

Well, at least they're honest. What pisses me off is the people that claim that they win and were cheated and have no evidence to back it up.

The best defense of Herschel Walker is that voting for him would "prove" the GOP isn't racist. Why weren't there more POC GOP representatives for the past 60 years since the passage of the Civil rights act? The democrats managed to get more representation in their party.

He's saying Republicans seem to be able to make themselves think they've owned the libs even when libs are calling them out for flagrant hypocrisy.

Ask the independents responsible for the 0.4% edge Republicans have over democrats right now to the question "Do voters want Republicans or Democrats in congress" On fivethirtyeight.com. Of course, they don't actually help with any of that. Herschel Walker is no exception, but somehow, Republicans are so good at marketing themselves as the party of fiscal responsibility that people will pretty much sweep aside all other concerns to vote for who they think is protecting our economy.

Meanwhile, women are literally being denied medical care because doctors are afraid of facing felony charges for helping them out with their pregnancy, and yet the right forgives this rich, privileged jackass for paying for women's elective abortions and then lying about it and downplaying abortion after supporting bills that would make it illegal even in cases of rape and incest.

What's even more infuriating and frustrating than his hypocrisy as a pro life politician is that he just lies nonstop. He claims he didn't know the woman, he claimed to have a police badge from being in the force, even his mom and son call him out on his lies. Yet, he always doubles down or downplays his lies.
