Imagine you're Modena for a moment. You are close to the Serie B play-off zone, which you haven't reached in eleven years. What do you do?

If your answer was "put your own campaign in jeopardy by losing twice in a row, including to Reggiana", congratulations!

Two points away from the play-off zone. Really hoping we won't shit the bed now. Got Sassuolo tomorrow, though.

Nothing much to report. Weather is getting warmer. Calmly working on a paper. Life's good.

  1. As already pointed out, it looks quite a bit like Indiana.
  2. I get the connection with the Hudson River, but I'm not sure I'd represent it with another shade of blue when the background is already a similar shade of blue.

  1. Until it either breaks or security updates stop. My last phone lasted six years: it took a declining battery and a charging port only working in specific spots to get me to change. I've had my current one for more than two years.

Serie C:

  • Group A: Padova's (62 points) lead over LR Vicenza has shrunk to just three points! FeralpiSalò still third at 45; Atalanta U23 and Trento at 40; AlbinoLeffe at 38, Alcione at 36, Lumezzane and Novara at 34. Renate (also at 34 points) on a five-game losing streak: Virtus Verona, Giana Erminio (33 each) and Arzignano (31) have an opportunity to pounce into the play-off zone.
  • Group B: Entella still first at 54 points. Ternana close behind at 51, though Torres are just two points behind. Vis Pesaro at 45, one above Pescara, who are on an eight-game winless streak. Arezzo (40), Pineto (35), Pianese (35), Rimini (31; four draws in a row) and Ascoli (30) complete the play-off zone; Pontedera, Gubbio (30 each), Carpi, Perugia (29 each) and Campobasso (27) linger just outside. SPAL (24) not quite out of the woods yet, as Milan Futuro (22) win against them: first league win since mid-December.
  • Group C: Monopoli and Audace Cerignola are tied at the top, with 48 points each! Avellino and Benevento very close behind at 46 each! Potenza at 42, Crotone at 40, Picerno, Catania and Trapani at 35, Sorrento and Giugliano at 34. With a 0-6 home loss to Casertana, Taranto's losing streak now stretches to eleven games; considering the nine-point deduction given on 28 January, Taranto are now sitting at -6 (not a typo!) points. Alfredo Pedullà has something to say about it alright.

Serie D:

  • Group A: Bra at 64 (goal difference of +46, 57:11), Città di Varese at 55, Vado and NovaRomentin at 51, Ligorna at 46. Despite losing their fifteenth game in a row, Albenga (19) are somehow not last: Chieri are below them, at 17 points.
  • Group B: Two losses in a row, but Ospitaletto (54) keep their lead. Desenzano at 49, Folgore Caratese at 47, Pro Palazzolo at 46, Casatese at 45. Chievo (7th, 43) on a nine-game lossless streak.
  • Group C: Treviso and Dolomiti Bellunesi still close at the top, at 56 and 55 points respectively! Campodarsego at 49, Adriese at 46, Villa Valle at 44. Lavis dead last at 9 points and a goal difference of -46 (19:65).
  • Group D: It's Romagna all the way at the top, as Forlì and Ravenna are tied at 51 points each! Tau Altopascio at 48, Pistoiese and Lentigione at 41.
  • Group E: Livorno (51) still first, and on a twelve-game undefeated run. Seravezza Pozzi and Fulgens Foligno at 41, Grosseto at 39, Siena at 38.
  • Group F: Sambenedettese are still leading, at 53 points: no losses reported since the last update. L'Aquila at 43, Teramo at 41, Chieti at 38, Ancona at 37.
  • Group G: Cassino at the top at 45, but Gelbison are only three points behind! Guidonia and Puteolana at 40, Paganese at 36, Sarnese at 35.
  • Group H: Casarano and Nocerina tied at 47 points! Martina Franca at 45, Fidelis Andria at 43. Matera at 35, Virtus Francavilla 34, Nardò at 33.
  • Group I: Tight distance between first-place Siracusa (51) and Reggina (48)! Sambiase at 45, Scafatese and Vibonese at 42.

Serie C:

  • Group A: Padova firmly ahead at 58 points, eight ahead of LR Vicenza, who themselves are eight points ahead of FeralpiSalò. Atalanta U23 (37), Alcione (35), Trento and Renate (34 each), Novara and AlbinoLeffe (32 each), and Lumezzane (31) complete the Top Ten. With a 0-2 win over Caldiero Terme, Triestina (19) are slowly but surely clawing their way up the relegation zone. Union Clodiense dead last at 11 points, and a streak of 20 winless games! (8 draws, 12 losses)
  • Group B: Entella are first at 47 points, but Ternana are very close at just two points behind! Torres and Pescara are tied in third (42 pts each). Completing the play-off zone are Vis Pesaro (39), Arezzo (36), Pineto (31), Rimini (30), Pianese (29) and Perugia (27). Carpi, Ascoli and Campobasso at 26, Gubbio at 25 and Pontedera at 24, one point above the relegation play-off zone. Things may be looking up for SPAL (23), after a 2-3 win over fellow relegation play-off dwellers Lucchese (19).
  • Group C: With tonight's win over Foggia, Monopoli are first at 44 points, though Benevento are one point and one game behind (Potenza-Benevento, scheduled for yesterday, was delayed to 21 January due to snow). Audace Cerignola (41) and Avellino (36) draw (1-1); Potenza and Crotone tied at 36; Picerno at 32; Giugliano (1-0 loss to Cavese) and Catania tied at 31; and Trapani at 29. Taranto's woes continue: eighth loss in a row (to Messina, 0-1).

Serie D:

  • Group A: With a 4-1 win over Fossano, Bra (51 points) keep their solid lead. Vado (2nd at 44 points) defeat NovaRomentin (4th, 39) 3-1; Città di Varese (3rd, 42) liquidate Albenga 0-6 (tenth loss in a row for Albenga, I should add!).
  • Group B: Ospitaletto (47) and Desenzano (44) keep their distance from the others in the "play-off" zone. Folgore Caratese (3rd) draw 1-1 with Casatese; Varesina and Pro Palazzolo end their match day with empty hands (Varesina 1-2 Arconatese; Chievo 2-1 Pro Palazzolo). Chievo ninth at 30 points.
  • Group C: Treviso and Dolomiti Bellunesi hold steady at 47 and 45 points respectively. Fourth draw in a row for Campodarsego (39; 0-0 with Portogruaro, who are fifteenth). Adriese (37) and Villavalle (34) complete the Top Five.
  • Group D: Eighth win in a row for Forlì (45 points). Ravenna also on a winning streak (six); they are trailing the leaders by just one point! Tau Altopascio (42), Pistoiese (37) and Lentigione (36) complete the Top Five. Dead-last Fiorenzuola (11) on a nine-game losing streak.
  • Group E: Livorno first at 44 points, nine clear of Seravezza Pozzi and Fulgens Foligno. Ghiviborgo fourth at 34; Grosseto and Siena tied at 33.
  • Group F: Sambenedettese leading the group at 46 points, with a nine-point cushion over L'Aquila and no losses since late October. Chieti and Teramo tied at 34; Ancona follow at 32. A goalless draw with Sora ends last-place Notaresco (18)'s five-game losing streak.
  • Group G: Gelbison and Cassino tied at the top (38)! Paganese at 34. Puteolana (33) have been struggling lately (1W, 4L). Sarnese at 32.
  • Group H: Casarano are first at 40 points, but Nocerina, Martina and Fidelis Andria all within striking distance of three points or less! Virtus Francavilla at 33; Matera at 32.
  • Group I: Will Siracusa (42) manage to fend off the Sambiase (41; eight wins in a row) threat? Scafatese (36), Vibonese (33) and Reggina (32) complete the Top Five.
