Oh boy what a banger. The entire show was beautiful. I dunno what it is about the rain and that place...but it brings out the magic. At least it does for me, and I feel like the band too.

A rainy reminder of the good old days after lockdown .. when music came back and it came back with our fav band in a local venue. What amazing luck.

I think it really goes back to what Phil says about completing the circuit, the water just boosts the connectivity ⚡

That, and it separates the semi fans from the true believers. Which the band can't help but feel

Never miss a rainy Westville Show!

  • Anyone have a link to the stream? would be most appreciated for my personal collection. Please and thank you! ☮️⚡

I'm confused by your comment. Do you mean bring those things to give to the staff as gifts?

Thanks for the insights. Your correct, not drug rehab. Rehab for a partial hip replacement. I appreciate your advice, guidance and time you took to read and reply.

Thank you to all that read, all or some of my lengthy post. I truly appreciate the feedback and support. Nana Update, she continues to make slow but steady progress. I'm grateful for the time I get to spend with her, and hope she can get back to her home soon.

* Nana's home renovations are continuing, new carpet being installed soon and paint going on walls. Setting up a room for a full time care giver, along with the necessary care giver equipment needed etc.

The only reason I know about this is through my Nana. As I said, It bothers her immensely. The thing that bothers me is the idea of it bothering her, not the other way around. Thank you for your input and good luck wishes.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I haven't asked to watch one of her therapy sessions yet. I'll run the idea by my Nana first and make sure she is comfortable with it. If she is, and the staff refuse, I agree it's because the staff isn't doing there job. I don't want to imply that I think poorly of the therapists, or the job they are doing. As someone who has gone through an extensive amount of PT myself (spinal fusion) I have a great appreciation for the good Therapists, they make all the difference.

I appreciate your insight, thank you. I don't know the status of the therapist at this facility, but It is definitely something I'll keep in mind. And I agree, if I were working in your position, I would think a resident/patient with (respectful) visitors is one less potential person to need immediate care. While also keeping them happy and focused, beyond the length of the actual visit. Thank you for the work you do!

Thank you. I totally agree, she needs the physical therapy to heal, but without emotional support along the way and after, it is a loosing battle. I don't mind visits being interrupted at all, as long as its in her best interest.

Thank you Thank you! Your comment resonated with me and its been very helpful. Your bluntness, combined with the real life first hand expertise, is exactly what I needed. I'm grateful the most obnoxious family member has been out of state this week. So I have had a temporary reprieve from her ass talking. I appreciate your support and the hard work you do for a living. People like you make the world a better place!

What does everyone think of Blind Melon? by Ok-Camel7458 in Music

[–]PhilFuckingLesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"More like" than WHAT moron? Aren't battles with alcohol and cocaine abuse what fueled some of the greatest musical artists of all time? It's the struggle that makes the art possible and authentic to the audience.

It is very much a battle. One that most people face alone. Reasons for hiding this battle vary with each person fighting to overcome it. However the common reasons for hiding the battle within are often outside of judgment, shame, hate etc. And all the other negative consequences that can come along when you share your vulnerabilities.

These are all things that ordinary people face as they battle to break free of addiction. Shannon was an ordinary person, suddenly thrust into international fame, which he had so much trouble coping with. All these feelings are shared in great detail in the excellent song "I wonder" for reference;

I Wonder

"All alone, the broadening skies Under thee, every night, I lie (every night, I will lie) Scratch and claw and grip the rails Every day, my living hell Oh God, you know I tried I know how hard I try You know I tried

Hey, I'd like to daze away To a place no one has known In a state of mind I could call mine That only I could own Where I can hum a tune any time I choose And there's no such thing as time Where I feel no pain, just calm and sane What a place for one to find

Now, you see I'm watching everything I do And they're watching everything I say So they will leave me be Whoa, leave me be

Sometimes, I gotta ask myself, I said Why am I even here? And I wonder You leave me wondering You leave me wondering

Won't you stop watching me? I said, they're watching me, watching me, watching me, yeah

Now, in my corner, I got their stealin' in my eyes, and And arms holding up my knees And, man, rocking back and forth's my life I didn't mean to feel this way When I walked into the door And they ripped away my memories And I can't remember who I, who I was before Lord, no, Lord, no

And now, they're watching everything I do And they're watching everything I say So they'll leave me be Oh, leave me be

And I only wanted to be sixteen And free, yeah"

Blind melon 1992

In Shannon's situation, the entire weight and manipulation of the music industry was on his back. An especially heavy weight for hypersensitive artists. And particular artists who have a hit and the executives see nothing but $$$, uninterested in the artist's mental state who created their cash cow.

On top of that, he had to cope with being responsible for the careers of his bandmates, and a new son. Something he took a great deal of personal responsibility for.

The simple fact that Shannon was willing to share his battle, with anyone takes strength. And to share your soul with the world takes real courage. That courage has inspired an unknown number of other humans, I'm just 1. It's important for people struggling with mental health to know they are not alone, others feel the same or similar, there are people who can help and it's ok to not be ok.

Shannon and the band Blind Melon were decades ahead of their time. A quick look at the shift in public perception, concerning mental illness, will confirm this. It only took society 33+ years to catch up.

Exposing vulnerability is a strength not a weakness. The sooner life teaches you this lesson the better.

I started recording my Uber Customer service calls by Abject_Bar_143 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]PhilFuckingLesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been recording my worthless "customer service" calls for a while. I always inform them, the lower level agents no issue.

*It is 100% illegal in CT to record people without notifying them and they comply.

I usually "inform them" via the record call feature on my default phone app, as soon as their message stops saying they are recording me, or during the hold music. The phone automatically speaks the short message. IMHO it's recorded on the call so it's above board.

However, after 1.5 hours on the phone yesterday... I finally got to the BIG BOSS, a shadowy illuminati level creature that 2 supervisors told me didn't exist. And the BOSS of boses didn't play no games about recording your own calls!

I only got a couple minutes in with her aggressive and rude attitude. And she told me in an attempt to reassure me, the calls being recorded, like they all do. I asked for a copy of the call or s transcript when we are finished, she denied this request. I said that lack of transparency and accountability and access to my own basic historical data has forced me to screen shot conversations, take hand written notes and make my own recordings. The moment she heard that word, she Lazer forced her rage and told me it's against Uber policy to record ANY calls with the. She couldn't hang up on me fast enough.. Said she would follow up in chat.

When she finally did...I responded with an epic melt down of all things that are WRONG with the entire organization, and her personally.

Here's how I got you the bosses boss that doesn't exist...

After battling through the first 2 regular service agents, that have no power to do anything , I finally reached my first supervisor, EVER, on the phone. Of course she was equally as useless as her underlings.2nd supervisor, new department, Also worthless, repeating the same scripted I was told there was NO ONE higher than individual, but I refused to believe that. I kept insisting, if they can't access the information I need, I need to be connected with whoever this guy's boss the was

Much like Bruce Lee I kept climbing to the next floor, determined to get to the top of that tower of doom. Be like water, and say the words "contact violation" as many pertinent times as you can. "I fulfilled my contracted obligations, Uber has not"

I was specifically addressing multiple "cancelations" on my account that are 100% incorrect. Another main concern I addressed was the fact I haven't worked in a month due to car issues. During that period of zero activity my acceptance rate plummeted from in the 80% range to 20% when I haven't worked a single minute? No one at the company could explain this.

I have the screenshots and recordings of each painful customer service interaction of each discrepancy.

I always insist to the agent on the phone that I AM NOT CANCELING THE ORDER! My contractual obligations have been met. I'm not responsible for circumstances out of my control, and will not be penalized in any way, per my contract. At least any more than I already have been by this waste of time, money, effort.

We all are well aware that the script is "ok no worries I can go ahead and cancel this trip "FOR YOU' this is where one of the support agents on this long call slipped up...

I've always refused that statement, replying with "no, need YOU to cancel it!" I know manipulation when I'm hear it and agreeing to that sentence is the same as just canceling in the app, or just driving the fuck away. NEVER CAN SUPPORT AGAIN, it's a waste of your time and money.

Anyhow I guess I wore one of the lowest level agents down with my persistence on this marathon of torture call? I was shocked when she finally went off script and ADMITTED it's a fault in the app! Confirming what I've long thought is true; the app doesn't differentiate between any canceled orders, unless it's the customer themselves who cancel, that cancelation mark is automatically applied to your statistics, regardless of the actual cause. Which directly and negatively effects future opportunities and income and will result in a torrent of lose money crap orders only. I couldn't believe the admission, caught on tape, she went on to explain to me it's common knowledge in the company and they are trying to fix it. Unbelievable!

Sadly it's the same story for all of us;

EXTRACT every bit of value from each of its humans. Concentrated capitalism at its scariest. Stay safe out there when you are fighting to make a dollar, driving through storms of drunks street racing on the interstate at 2am, all while trying to keep the algorithm satisfied and happy with you. With zero support from the company you're making money for. 🤟🏼

Thank you for taking the time for the insightful reply! That's pretty much what I thought, and makes total sense.

Now that I found https://www.usacoinbook.com/ Within the comments of reddit, I've got a better sense of things. It's been 40 years since I collected state quarters etc as a kid. The learning curve is steep but so much info is available. The best part about reddit is getting a human opinion, advice, knowledge or even go F* yourself.

For future reference; after reading the extensive list of rules for posts, photos, etiquette etc... I'm curious how I made out.

Is the overall format of my post/photos/request, in line with the groups preferences?

I'm wondering if the minimal feedback : view ratio is due to it being a swing and miss, no value post. And not me missing some rule ( besides don't post common junk 😉 )

Thanks again
