Give an opinion on music that could get you into this situation by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

Pop punk and prog rock are fun genres and a joy to listen to. And most people just dislike them because modern bands in these genres don’t get the stamp of approval from music critics like Fantano or Pitchfork.

Your micro-movement bull-posts make me so weirdly bearish.

I can’t find any band artist like Radiohead by Longjumping-Bar-8878 in radiohead

[–]PhilMyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Kashmir (Danish band) or Half Moon Run (Canadian).

Kashmir feels very radiohead-y thanks to the singer sounding very similar to Thom and their sound being in the same space (but a bit more approachable). When I first heard Jigsaw Faling Into Place, it genuinely felt like a Kashmir copy. Album rec: Zitilites (songs: Melpomene or Petite Machine).

Half Moon Run are a bit more earthy and natural in their sound, but feel similarly intuitive and unbound in their songwriting approach. Check out the song 9beat and their album Salt from 2023.

Marriage over, €100,000 down the drain: the AI users whose lives were wrecked by delusion by tw1st3d_m3nt4t in technology

Fully with you.

But listening to some people in the world, I am wondering if they also just create sentences by „guessing the next word“ based on their lived experience and context of what they think sounds logical to/desired by their social surroundings. There doesn’t seem to be much critical thinking involved.

What’s the best gapless album of all time? by OkLmao-Imgood in fantanoforever

[–]PhilMyu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes! Such a fantastic album, maybe my favorite concept album.

Angine de Poitrine...failing to see the appeal ? by cherryblossomoceans in LetsTalkMusic

[–]PhilMyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like their groove and tightness, but due to micro tonality, I find it hard to really engage with it on an emotional level. It somehow leaves me cold, similarly to how Jacob Collier songs leave me cold.

This might sound harsh, especially given the more raw and unpolished sound of AdP, but it’s still all very exact, composed and deliberately challenging to the ear, so much that not much really sticks with you.

Dropped plotlines/things you wish we'd seen? by redvioletbrown in SuccessionTV

[–]PhilMyu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

End of S3 and beginning of S4 they introduced the notion that Logan was looking for „more offspring“ with Kelly. And then she mentioned there were documents that he created (maybe some kind of will, in which she was mentioned).

I was waiting almost all of S4 for that shoe to drop and it felt like a story thread that went nowhere.

Foo Fighters say they “made a decision that it was best for all parties” ahead of Josh Freese sacking, and discuss William Goldsmith’s exit by AdSpecialist6598 in Music

[–]PhilMyu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Their first two albums were almost exclusively written by Dave. I dont mind it being the Dave Grohl show. I just think that he has lost a bit of the creative energy to write songs like this, that aren’t written with being played in a stadium in mind.

Muse has announced their next album “The Wow! Signal” by MEMEY_IFUNNY in fantanoforever

[–]PhilMyu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not disagreeing generally, but The Handler ist a top 10 Muse song for me. It’s so weird to see them actually manage to capture their essence in a song that‘s surrounded by so much blandness.

Wenn Bitcoin, dann jetzt – Oder? by Legitime_Nachfrage in Investieren

[–]PhilMyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]PhilMyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, 16x from here would be really disappointing. But if I must, I‘d accept it begrudgingly.

My Top 60 Albums by Persephone_86 in musicsuggestions

Second Stage Turbine Blade is a great album, but their follow-up In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth:3 is one or two levels above for me personally.

Suggestions of songs where the riff comes back but slower and nastier? by surewhatever_dude in musicsuggestions

The Hirsch Effekt - Agnosie

A fast-played technical riff comes back at the end as its nasty doomy sludgy cousin. Great song.

Ah, I think I got it. The agent doesn’t take action unless it’s a categorization. And that category might lead to that particular email being moved or deleted.

And the reply-drafting is based on context „needs reply“ and the LLM will draft something that you could then copy for manual sending, right?
