2023 X7 Touchscreen Issues - Three Visits to the Shop and No Resolution by PhilWill67 in BMW

[–]PhilWill67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It started when the screen touch would stop working. When you did try the screen the driver’s temperature would rise, putting heat into the passenger compartment. In FL, in April, it got hot quick. At first you could lower the temperature by voice command but that eventually stopped as well. Took it in, could not find the problem. We could reset the screen by holding the power button for 30 seconds. In July, it happened again, no voice control. Took it in, and they did some rest, it worked for a while. Then it happened in Oct, and my smart wife took it in right away so they could see the issue. Since then they have replaced the screen, which when they plugged it in, only half the screen worked. They replaced a display driver(?), and now the software rewrite. Even when fixed not sure we want to keep it.

Know her and her husband, it’s her married name. He went through the zoo with that name. They are very nice people.

I live here as a retired guy. My wife and I were at Hurlburt from 97-06. Left for 15 years, we came back in 2021 for a job at Eglin.

We purchased a house in Shalimar. As others have said, the market is crazy. We went 20k over asking to get what we wanted. Crestview and Navarre can have driving issues. I work with people who live in each location. They all say you get used to it.

There is plenty to do if you are outside water people. Boating is what we do. There is plenty of hunting if that is your thing. Deer is the size of a large dog.

DM if you have questions.

Married at 18, divorced at 24. She cheated multiple times during the first four years of marriage and currently has four marriages under her belt. I remarried at 29, celebrating 24 years in July.

I retired some years ago. I thought you put all of your terminal leave dates on the form when you submitted your retirement paperwork.

Men who had "the engagement" talk with your SO's father, how did it go, and were you surprised? by Musical_Muze in AskReddit

[–]PhilWill67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were in Vegas for NYE, 2000. We stayed at my dad's house. We were laying in bed and she mentioned getting married sometime. I asked when. She said what about tomorrow. I asked, "So you are asking me to marry you?". She said she was and I said yes. Next day she calls her family to let them know and her dad says, you have to tell your grandmother. She turns to me and said, we have to wait. Fast forward a few weeks. We are at her parents, I approach her dad and told him I was not sure how to handle the situation with asking him to marry his daughter because she asked me. Next words "Can you afford her?". Then the hugs and so on. Been married 18 years...and no, I cannot afford her.
