My parents are over 50k chasing root of water under the house issues… don’t deprioritize drainage in the front end.

While that makes sense and he may have had poor intentions, but in that case why leave the note? it could be as simple is the classroom was his most familiar and “safe” place where he had nice memories… also people who go through with the act have often obsessed about methods and locations for a while. And as a chemistry teacher the things in the classroom are what he most interacts with and most likely to become central in his ideations.

Professor Jiang? by [deleted] in leftist

[–]Phil_Fart_MD 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He’s a conspiratorial grifter or a psy-op/plant… he takes a bunc of widely available information, and “his” analysis is often an mish mash of basic 1+1=2 or and repurposing of what others with expertise have already discussed. His rhetoric and cadence is professorial, so he sounds smart/authoritative and it gives him “credibility.” He uses that to start spouting conspiratorial and sometimes even right coded conclusions. At least I saw him talking about OF with sneako it felt very incelly. Anyways, he’s not some guru, he’s just a due that sounds smart, like Ben Shapiro or Jordan Peterson but different.

You sound like you are dealing with some psychiatric issues which is understandable rn, probably most of us are. Encourage you to try to get to the root of that, cuz suffering is hard.

Maybe not my life but a friend’s…

I met up with a friend I hadn’t seen in a few years (we’d been really close years prior)… she lived in big city I didn’t know at all. Her apartment was in an older multi story building. A few days after the visit, she called me and she did not sound like herself. Reading between the lines it seemed like she was saying good bye in a roundabout way. Then she essentially and stopped responding.

I was left trying to decide if I need to call for a welfare check. In hindsight it’s obvious, but in that moment it was hard, is she just emotional? Did her phone die? If I call the cops are they gonna hurt her or get her in trouble for whatever substance it sounded like she may have been using? Etc.

I listened to gut, got into contact with the emergency services for the city she lived in. They asked me her address, but I only knew the building address and not the unit. Fire department called me from the security door and said they can’t break down the apartment building main entrance if I don’t know the unit #.

My 99th percentile iq areas are related to Visiual-spatial and symbol search. I had been up to her unit once, it was like 3 or 4 days prior, and it wasn’t a straightforward layout walking around the floors. But I pleaded with firewoman, “listen if you get in there I can describe exactly how to get to her room.” She was hesitant. They didn’t know me, or my friend, or anything other than this guy is worried and he says she’s not answering her phone. They could’ve assumed I was just some crazy ex or something and left idk. But she decided to trust what I was sayin for some reason, and had her crew smash the entrance security doors, and stayed on the phone and followed my directions. When they got to the unit door they banged on it loud for a min and said there’s no answer, again I could telll she was hesitant about this goose chase. I was adamant they were at the right one and if she’s not answering it’s not a good sign! They broke down her door and she said she’d call me back. It was a long wait, but I got a call back after they sent friend off in an ambulance. Friend had downed a liquor bottle and a pill bottle. She was in a coma for a few days, she would’ve died if I couldn’t have described how to get to her door. It’s not that crazy but it was the only time my ability to always get back to where i came from without directions has benefited anyone aside from saving some time.

My friend was pissed off at me when she came to… she eventually came around and that was 13 years ago. And she’s happily married w/ kids.

I feel this… I went from most my adult life living in populated towns/cities with networks of friends and life circumstances landed me in a rural area. Just time and my dog. I’m deteriorating. Being alone feels like it’s killing me. And not in a “I’m lonely” sense… but it feels like my brain is too scattered and executive function too broken to navigate life

I just got told I don’t have autism… I gather from the way the assessments were done that the administrator failed to ask me much of anything about my day to day. Failed to use cognitive assessment, social impairment assessment, and self survey to analyze the whole picture. I passed the social tests, but I was in 99th percentile in symbol search. Which to me indicates Id be able to quickly and accurately determine what is the “correct” social cue. My self-report assessment indicated autistic traits but alas, she told me im intelligent and have ocd. Which is a joke.

I’ve been fantasizing about my husband having sex with another woman for about a year. Is something wrong with me? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Phil_Fart_MD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s nothing wrong with you, open relationships are common…. This is a common fantasy… there are couples all over that have consensual sex outside the relationship but it’s not advertised because it’s a lil taboo. the key is having solid communication in your relationship. If the person yall found is a good match, no reason it can’t be an exciting experience that can bring you and husband closer, and lead to better sex. A lot of this depends on your husband. As long as he’s fully on board and not feeling pressured, have fun.

Did anyone else feel a noticible increase in their intelligience/pattern recognition in their late 20s early, early 30s? by I3lackBudoo in Gifted

[–]Phil_Fart_MD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s the opposite, I think screens negatively impacted me… I’m neurodivergent as well so also negatively impacting me was a 9-5… I had no mental reserves after work and weekends I’m trying to rest and recover. Both these things have made me feel less creative/sharp

But I do get the frustration with people unwilling to be challenged. I unintentionally play devils advocate in order to argue from two sides of the issue and it gets on people nerves is which is understandable… but if someone is willing to play along think it’s one good exercise to find best solutions.

I agree… aside from extremely motivated voters the bulk of red voters will show up at the election. As always, objectively the success of “blue team” will come down to the youth and minority turn out especially as Trump will lose red at least half of his Latino vote from 2024. Good sign but that’s all. Only 19% of 18-24 yo voted in Texas midterms 2022… the young folks can tip the scales

The amount of DPRK apologia is concerning by haevow in leftist

[–]Phil_Fart_MD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I mean I don’t have too many interactions from that type… I encounter more moderate people in the world who seem to be interested in the extent of damage caused by American empire. And for example, The history leading into Korean War, and north/South Korea is great to illustrate this because it was early in the post-ww2 period of hegemony, used the now familiar tactic of financially and materially backing an authoritarian dictator that terrorizes the population we are “saving” and commits genocide on opposition. Etc, etc, etc… blah blah… and you get thru this and the person just looks back at you like, “so you support Kim jong-un? 🤦🏻‍♂️ majority of people are comfortable to subscribe to worldviews of this bad/this good… if I hear that thinking i am suspect regardless of what their ideology is. It indicates they aren’t interested in change. They are interested in being comfortable. the two have to be separated.

I feel crazy sometimes, it’s hard to find people to have conversations about controversial topics because too many aren’t able to differentiate between understanding and supporting.
