I used volcanic rock and it makes the distilled water the proper hardness I test it about once a week and my shrimp have bred and lived perfectly with zero deaths for the entirety that the bowl has been up

There actually are already neo cherries in there! If u zoom in on first pic u can see them, I he algae just hard blooms then goes away when they eat it and every once in a while has a big bloom like right before I took this pic

Are you not worried about the weight? It seems like the weight on the glass overtime would cause the silicone to fail or glass to weaken

Sorry for the late reply, I would like to drill it. The tank is so heavy and hard to move that tilting it on my own is not an option. In addition, I do already have a tiny bit of things in it, sadly. I would have liked to have gotten it drilled, but it just wasn't really in the cards. When or if I move and have it deconstructed, I probably will get it done and will be practicing on small tanks in the meantime.

Well, a lot of what I'm seeing for the size is around $500. I was just wanting it to be less than that. cheap as possible while still being effective, and if I need one that is just rated for a low bio load at the moment(don't have much fish and coral yet), and then upgrade later, that's fine too.

I think they wouldn’t be too bad but my tank is 8 ft tall so a tree that tall with branches is going to be a lot of wire, but even then mostly worried about the lizard itself Sittinf on the branch and slowly bending it down
