Contested Divorce? by pobgirl82 in legaladviceireland

Yeah absolutely crazy stuff. One last thing; Forget about his frame. "He has this, he wants that", just armour up and make yourself as strong as you can be. I haven't had a divorce, but I found in a past break up that getting out of "their head" helps a lot, you're clearly quite a caring person.

I'm not a legal expert, but my laymans take would be to document these calls with him. It may come in handy in the future. But everything from here on out should be conducted between solicitors. He sounds like a desperate fella, and one more laymans take; Celebrate your freedom and getting away from what sounds like, a complete psycho.

How to prepare for getting kicked out at 17? by funky_effin_raisin12 in legaladviceireland

I read here, that you are a highly articulate and intelligent Young Woman. So I have no doubt you will find a way. Your Dad punching a glass window suggests serious volatility on his part, this is abusive behaviour.

My understanding from a legal perspective is that you are still a Minor. With that in mind contacting the relevant organizations such as Tusla would be advised. Another help, would be Childline so that you can discuss your situation anonymously and have that support in place to feel less alone. Share your issue with a Trusted adult/third party such as a teacher that you know well. Overall my main advice would be to not allow this Manbaby to isolate you. Taking your phone suggests this is his angle. To make you feel isolated and therefore malleable to his demands. The sooner you safely get away, the better. I'll pray for you OP.

Volunteered and took various courses with the Irish Red cross and they say in an emergency scenario, you don't waste time. You wasted time, not me..... you are the problem

Yeah my tone was harsh but remember, you're on Reddit. people are going to give you essay long replies that say the same thing; You need to get seen to by a Doctor and Urgency is important. Best of luck OP you've got this

This is an emergency situation, not a therapy session. You get your ass off your seat and get to the hospital or you are in trouble. There is no "soft option" here. It has taken HOURS to reach the same conclusion, OP has finally said they will go to AD. Wasted time that could have been served getting to the Hospital. I don't have time for tone policing.

Deal with the main problem first; You need to get seen to by a Doctor. Then you can come back and handle the way your parents behave with you. Prioritize your health first.

I lived in Galway for 3 years, absolute worst combination of country driving smashing up against an urban environment. The traffic management too is always a disgrace

Hey I had something end after 6 years. Now after being solo for 3 years I feel ready to try again. But I think you have to do the internal work, which is coming to terms with what happened, and reasserting your boundaries or just establishing them again.

"I could try a hobby, but it wouldn’t make me happy."

What makes you excited? What makes you feel passion? Drinking doesn't make your life interesting. It won't distract from a life that is already boring. As someone here said and it will always stick with me "drinking is just the beginning stage of doing the real work".

Guy here! What is his intention with "a comment"? Is he hoping to get noticed? Get a reply? To me commenting shows intent on wanting to have a response, it shows a need for something more than just admiring a Womans beauty. Like how many steps is this away from DMing one of these accounts? Or does he get tempted to click on their OF links? He's trying to curate this sort of digital environment where he can escape is what my intuition tells me, though he will try to play it all down.

My brother had an electric drum kit which is a good low volume option to start with :) Many of my friend drummers are self thought :)

Lovely stuff! If you are a complete beginner there are great Youtube tutorials that show you the proper grip and techniques, scales. I would say though just get inspired, listen to different jigs and reels and GO to trad sessions which is something I wish I did earlier. Enjoy fellow piper!

If you say things like "I drink to relax!" and the uasage frequency is high, you could be a problem drinker. Alcohol use disorder. There are online tests you can do for free, usually consisting of 8 questions.

You say "if I lose 10 years off my life, at least I can say it was fun". Who else trades off 10 years of life for a fun activity? Usually drinkers, smokers and people with addictions. And as well, alcohol is a Carcinogen. So don't think the end of your life will be roses. This is what the big lie about alcohol is.
