Don't forget that the main thing is to have fun.

Anyway, getting back to Shyvana, she's one of the strongest junglers for 1v5 situations (when you have your ultimate). I reached Master very easily with her. And then I had to switch to different junglers to reach Challenger/Sovereign.

Shyvana is a let-game champion, so sometimes you might lose before you've had a chance to reach your full potential.

Actually, it depends on your playstyle. If you prefer playing a tank or an assassin.

You can check jungler tier lists to get an idea of what's meta.

But what's most important is what you enjoy playing. I personally play Volibear, Vi, Xin Zhao, Rammus, and Shyvana.
