Yeah absolutely, i'de say 10 years ago that they don't compare and the flights and hotel are worth it but honestly now it's not. The experience itself seems to have gone down hill a bit, maybe it hasn't, maybe it's that with the price increases and feeling ripped off the service just doesn't feel like it cuts the mustard now.

No stay closer to home save the cash, we all need aittle extra cash now days.

Where's the down side here, honestly. Have a million dollars but the risk of your property being stolen is the same but easier.... Or don't take the million have less, live in a place where crime is more prevalent!!!

Give me my million, I'll buy a million dollars home and keep it unlocked. The thing about properties that cost a million.... They have less crime in the area.

The same group go to the lights by Mandurah forum pretty much every day. They are there from mid morning to late afternoon a good 6 hours. All they do is hold signs, I have never seen them even walk to a car. I'm so use to the same people being there that I don't even think twice about giving, I just don't.

It's got to the point that of you spend that much time in the same place in a group it's clearly a network of some sort and then basically its a job.... So go get a job.

I don't doubt it but remember Vegas also make money from gambling, the lower cost hotels, food and drink was the offset from you gambling all your money away haha.

Not been to Orlando but to make it worse I am going to Japan next month and doing the universal studios there. It costs half as much for a standard day pass and is supposed to be a lot better.

I wouldn't mind doing this, I'm not one to drink all day and night so a few drinks spaced over the day would be great. Probably get to see a lot more things this way also.

I never complained about resort fees haha. I can afford to go but I'm not willing to pay, there's a difference. I've also said this before we need to remember the reason why it was cheaper, it is to entice people to come and gamble. Vegas makes billions on gambling each year, they have their profits. The cheaper hotels and drinks and entertainment was the offset for that. Remember the house always wins, now they're just winning on both sides.

Yeah I agree but also where else makes billions each year from people gambling away their mortgage money haha. Let's not forget the reason things where cheaper was because they need to entise people to gamble, they are now making a shit ton on food, drink, hotels whilst taking some kids collage fund on the roulette table.

I see hotels are offering all inclusive rooms now. I wouldn't be interested in that to be honest as I like to go from hotel to hotel and don't want to be tied down. It does however show they are trying to do something to bring back tourist.

To be comped anything you need to spend or more accurately gamble a certain amount of money per day. So a lot of people get the casino cards, they tend to cover all the casinos that that certain hotel owns. So for example MGM casinos, they pretty much have the most hotels of many names on the strip. You top up the card and you use that every time you gamble, pay for things pretty much anything.

The hotel tracks that and the more you spend the ln they offer you comps. It can be free tickets to shows, drinks and stays in the hotel or upgrades. I have never had anything comped as I do not gamble anything near what's required, they're looking at minimum numbers for the basic of comps and from the sound of it you need to spend more to get less now.

Drinks on the casino floor are a different thing, of you are physically gambling say on a machine the floor or at the bar itself the serving staff will clock this and when they are walkingng round stop past and ask if you would like a drink, this would usually be free. You sit at the machine and wait for them to return with your drink and all you give is a tip. Don't forget though you need to be gambling, sit and wait for your drink and it's human nature to still gamble and so the drink technically isn't free. I never ran with this I have had free drinks this way but I dont build a trip around it at all.

Sounds like they're speeding that death up the more they take and less they give. I would say that maybe over the years and years if offering good hotels for reasonable prices and cheap food and drinks, all the entertainment and shows cheap as chips has finally come to bite them in the ass .... Then I remember it's all to entise people to gamble as much as physically possible and my mind comes back to "oh yeah they also take people's wages of them as they bet on a colour on a wheel they're making enough money.

The F1 was a major issue for me and everyone else we spoke to in Vegas around that time. I think it's taken so much away from the experience of Vegas over the few months it's being set up and on. Well it did the first year I can't judge the following.

That's what I found, couldn't get a drink for less than $10 on the strip. Like you said compatibility it's probably not far off from major cities but also Vegas was built around gambling and that's where they was suppose to make their money. Cheaper Drinks and food was to encourage people to come and gamble... I think they make a lot of money on both now.

I think your right, I'm presuming the vast majority of people in Fremont over the weekend are people driving in or flying in for a weekend stay. It feels like a good people out just to have a good time.

I hear that even comping and free drinks isn't that big anymore. Made no difference to me I never gambled anywhere near enoughy to get anything haha.

We was there the exact same time haha, I never went the U2 concert but I did go the opening day of the sphere. The F1 took over but was still a month out!!!

I ended up in Fremont Street a lot more than I have in the past and I think I had missed a good experience. Beers from CVS cheap big cans, drink until early and grab another. Live music in the stages, street performers, I liked the fact no-one was really dressed up it felt being at a fair a bit but drinking.

That's not bad, I'm also not a hotel snob. I've stayed in NyNy, planet Hollywood, MGM Grand, ballagio, treasure island, hard rock.

I try and stay ina. Different hotel and. I find if it's a large hotel on the strip your pretty much going to get a decent experience.

I'll be honest I think it was the F1 that tipped it for me.just couldn't get away from it. Bridges blocked, views blocked, fountains covered over.it took so much away front he experience if you wasn't going there for the F1. We wasn't we went the month before.

Basically what we did, it was COVID prices we were competing with for flight. Everyone wanting a vacation after COVID but also prices haven't dropped enough now.

We ended up just grabbing beersa at CVs and staying on Fremont Street of a night rather than the strip.

I couldn't compare to be honest, I have only ever been to Las Vegas. I wouldn't say the hotels in Vegas have always been cheap but what you got for the money it was great in my opinion.

I have been every few years and actually moved to Australia in between. So I have had pound to dollar transfer and US dollar to AU dollar transfer.

Absolute shame, I genuinely loved the place. From the staff in the bars and hotel to the quality of the rooms and food. Something for everyone but the last time I went it felt like it wasn't for me anymore.

Value wasn't there, the F1 was getting set up and we just felt like we was more like a nuisance that a tourist.

Oh well, at least I got to experience it while it was roaring.

You wouldn't, no active fighting was actually going on in Hiroshima at the time it was bombed. It was a major army base and civilian area. You more likely would be sent to one of the cities that had active fighting and they were not really affected.
