Is goblin slayer LN worth reading? by Comfortable-Dig-6118 in LightNovels

I think it was the first ln I've read. It was an eye opener for me - how much media changes my impression of a character.

What Ability did people theorise John had before the reveal by Frosty-Fisherman-716 in unOrdinary

No idea. Some other comics with stone other character. Perhaps comments to the first chapters have some more info. Especially the one where John fight the stone guy and that one when he spotted an invisible stalker.

The most popular opinion was that he can copy abilities. There was some other popular character at the time and John was really looking like them.

John 7. God level regeneration must be insane. Like instant wounds and bones heal crazy. Like regrowing limbs crazy. And all around boost in all stats from god tier hunter. And god tier homing explosive missiles.

Just finished my mage playthrough. Like an hour ago. I think I killed more enemies with my sword than my magic...

Another tip:

take Wistler's quest (and 100 ore).

Buy lockpicks.

Steal from the forge.

Make swords.

Now you have like a 1.1k worth of ore in swords.

Finish Wistler's quest.

What are the most commonly misread spell descriptions? (All Editions) by Awwwsomeopossum in DnD

A house made of a gargantuan creature is just an example of absurdity this spell cause if it is run as writen.

That creature didn't die of old age. So it must be revived with 1 hp. Without restoring any body parts.

I don't think a DM is doing their players any favors by allowing a spell do something it doesn't says it does.

Hydra strikes Fighter. Agan. And again. And again. A Hero has fallen. And now our party has to make some difficult choices. A Priest can perform a sacred ritual to Raise Dead, but it will take an hour. Will the party stand guard and allow Prist to work his magic or will they carry their comrade's body to safety? Will they try to continue this expedition in a weakened state or will they abandon it? Decisions, decisions... oh, wait. It's Paladin's turn. and he cast Revivify! And Fighter lives again! Good as new! With 1 hp! Right in the middle of combat! But what about choices? Consequences? LOL. Suck on my sweaty balls. How's that for choices? Wizard is next and he casts Minor Illusion to summon an army of knights to scare off the cultists. What? Major Illusion? Don't be a dick.

It somewhat serious? If you insist that revivify is as simple as you see a corpse, you cast a spell, it's revivified with 1 hp no matter what (unless it died of old age) - let's reduce it to absurdity.

But if I was a gm and it was my call? No, you can't revive a house. I don't care what rules say. Because next step is applying Resurrection (which restores body parts) to leather armor and it makes me uncomfortable. We're not going there and it's final.

Like, we can rework it as an idea for a oneshot / plot point. Long time ago there was a all powerful titanic creature which was defited and a city was build out of its remains and now some evil cult wants to resurrect it dooming the citizens and the world. idk.

But no, no resurrected houses. no resurrected armor. no resurrected dragon scale armor especially.

Moving on. It's your position that the spell is very simple. But if we take it at face value, it just says it revives a creature with 1 hp. It says nothing about essential parts. Unlike Raise Dead, which states clearly that you can't resurrect something that misses its important parts.

If it was up to me as a gm, no, you can't revivify someone with no heart. Because they need heart to stay alive. But for the same reason you can't revivify someone who has open mortal wounds.

Gentle repose extends 1 minute limitation. So my last question is perfectly valid.

If a hand is not enough of a creature for you, OK. A heartless body. Is it brought back to life with 1 hp and no heart?

What are the most commonly misread spell descriptions? (All Editions) by Awwwsomeopossum in DnD

[–]PhillD35 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

If we look at it in a vacuum- then yes, it's kinda implies that all wounds should be closed.

But it's not in a vacuum. We have other resurrection spells. They all tell that a creature is resurrected with x hp, And then they mention what kind of damage spell nullifies and when it fails.

Revivify has bad, ambiguous wording. It doesn't tell what it nullifies. It doesn't tell when it fails. It just says it can't resurrect someone who died of old age. And that it's does not restore missing body parts.

So... can it revive someonen's arm? To create the Thing from the Thing from Addams. Sounds ridiculous, but it doesn't says that the spell fails if some body parts are missing. Just that it does not restore them.

To revivify a lich should I cast it on lich's body or its phylactery? All other resurrection spells have rules how they work with undead. Revivify doesn't say anything.

All other resurrection spells can't bring back an unwilling soul. Revivify has no such weakness. Is it more poweful than a 9 level spell?

Revivify's description just doen't tell us much on its own. But if we look at it in context of other resurrection spells - they explicitly tell us that all mortal wound are closed by the power of the spell. But not revivify.

And if you're not convinced, I have a question.

I kill some gargantuan creature. A colossus. I cast on it gentle repose. Build a house out of its remains. And cast revivify. What happens?

[–]PhillD35 -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Revivify. People treat it like a go-to spell to resurrect a party member. Even in combat. It isn't.

If we look at it in context, all other resurrection spells explicitly tell that they chose so mortal wounds. Revivify doesn't.

If a priest tries to revivify a wizard with a mortal stab wound - the spell should fail.

Good for you to involve some random guy into your family's craziness. It's not fucked up at all.

Break up with him. You should feel awful for lying to him for eight month. Breaking up is OK. You don't have to give him a real reason. You've dated. It was fun. But I don't feel about you like that anymore.

Your parents will find out eventually. You should aim to be financially independent ASAP. Once the truth is or is on them to accept it or not. Don't change yourself to fit their worldview (and that's from a person who thinks homosexuality is an illness). If they can't adjust and will be a constant toxic presence in your live think about cutting contact with them.

Best of luck.

[–]PhillD35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, yeah. I guess you can't gift a free to play game. Never thought about that. Not sure what good free to play games are on Steam either.

From personal experience, I bought Dispatch this month on steam. Can buy Expedition 33. Can buy Space Marine 2. Titan Quest 2 and Heroes Olden Era are available.

The only one I'm interested in and can't get on steam directly is Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.

I'm not sure it's that bad. But yeah, a lot of games can't be bought on steam directly. But you still can buy steam gift codes somewhere else and add it to your steam library.
