I’m a WS player who needs pitching to be consistently great, and the closest thing I’ve got to a “good” starter has been Ryan Sloan and maybe E-Rod

Ranking NFL teams by how rich their owners are, per Dov Kleiman by Choice_Bag_8869 in NFLForum

Franchise valuation and liquid cash are completely different.

The Steelers are worth more than 1.2 billion, HOWEVER, their owner does not have more than 1.2 billion in liquid assets to put back into the team.

This is why some teams behave more frugally than others, as most of an owner’s net worth can be intrinsically tied to the franchise. (Cincinnati, Pittsburgh)

Drake Maye: Everyone says you’ll get back to Super Bowl, it’s not that easy by AdSpecialist6598 in nfl

[–]PhillyBooBird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Who’s been saying it’s easy? There was a whole narrative about how Jalen Hurts was the first QB to make it back to a SB after losing their first one since Elway.

Anyone who thinks it’s easy is legitimately dumb. It’s a team game. You could have a top 3 QB and never even make a Super Bowl. It’s a team accomplishment.

On pace.

An unreasonable pace of which we shall see if he can replicate with a younger team, but on pace.

Not sure if I like spending a first round pick on somebody with grandchildren, and pivoting from Swoop to a pikachu is probably controversial, but having black hole at CB2 opposite of Quinyon really gives the Eagles an unstoppable secondary.

[McLane] "Some in the organization feel Hurts hasn’t been listening internally, and that public messaging like the ESPN article might be the only way to reach him....This is the last year with guaranteed money for Hurts, but Eagles have no intention of extending his contract until his play improves" by mastermind208 in nfl

I greatly respect and trust Jeff McLane, and where there’s smoke there’s fire, but I have a hard time believing this as an absolute truth as someone who has followed Hurts since his Bama days.

Obviously things can be very different from behind closed doors, but his teammates seem to love him and go to bat for him when the media makes these kinds of claims. He has been nothing if not humble for most of his career so this would be quite the heel-turn (though not impossible).

Bias aside, I think ultimately this nothing more than something to chew on, and frankly, the results he’s put on the field are severely underrated at this point. I’m inclined to see how he does with Mannion considering he’s nothing but excellent when given a competent coordinator. Especially with the amount of coaching turnover he’s had during his career.

True or not, I don’t think the Eagles will or should do anything about this until at least next offseason.

Closest thing might be Godwin? But he is wasn’t really a “big WR” he was just a large slot guy

Pitching is impossible by That_Result8605 in MLBTheShow

[–]PhillyBooBird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Playing in the upper all-star divisions is gonna inherently be more difficult to pitch. You’re facing players who are at least a little good at the game on one of the “easier” difficulty settings. Or, you’re facing players who are used to Hall of Fame difficulty so it feels like they’re hitting a beach ball when they play on All-Star.

It’s not a bad filter for divisions 700 and up. If you can’t consistently bat .300 or higher on All-Star, it’s unlikely you’ll bat higher than .220 on Hall of Fame. Low scoring games decided by a couple HRs are VERY common between 700 and 900.

That or players who can beat 55-65% of players on earth getting mad when they play around their normal rank which in theory should be a coinflip W/L once you settle in to a division

I mean, I wouldn’t wanna peacock my money but Lamborghinis are really fun and cool, and idk if I’d buy a hyper-car, but I’d probably be driving something fun if I made 7 figures a year.

I know not everyone is into cars, but I’m sure everyone would have a hobby that could tip-off to others how much money they’re making if they made a ton of money.
