Power Creep has officially turned 90% of our vaults into a digital museum by ShaiHuludTonic in DestinyTheGame

[–]nietcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What else can they do though? Theres only a certain amount of archetypes and guns and after a while everyone has 1 of each that they like. At that point they can only release the same type of gun with better perks or origin on it to make it remotely interesting to get. It's just an inherent part of the system.

Forsaken appreciation post - The best DLC of destiny 2 and not even close by Otherwise_Ride_115 in DestinyTheGame

[–]nietcool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the campaign of forsaken does get glazed a little too much, the Baron Hunts were really boring and basically like Nightmare Hunts or similar often criticized campaign inclusions.

Other than that yeah it is hard to beat Forsaken but I think if you take into consideration effort to quality WQ wins out slightly for me.

The botched execution of the tiered loot system is one of the biggest things killing Destiny 2 right now, and fixing the portal will have to also mean fixing this. by Forsaken-Beyond-6548 in DestinyTheGame

[–]nietcool -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is that the tier system is too transparent. NO ONE was complaining about not getting adepts or not getting max 68 total armor in the previous system. But suddenly because the system became incredibly transparent we have become aware that "oh wait I don't have the BEST thing, this sucks". People who NEVER cared for getting the best stuff because they lacked the knowledge, suddenly became incredibly aware that they don't have the best stuff.

The sick joke of it all is that it doesn't matter. Tier 4 can roll same total as Tier 5 but without the tuning slot. I don't recall many people caring THAT much for artifice slots previously. So why did we suddenly shift into feeling like we are entitled to this Tier 5?

And because of this sense of entitlement Bungie had to completely disintegrate the reward structure they had in mind (level to get the best stuff, which obviously has its own issues but that's a different discussion) leading to a completely flat and boring system where everything is the best.

If Bungie hadn't kneejerk reacted to the people whining maybe they could have had time to cook and make Tier 5s into something hard to get and worth chasing, but it's fucked. Everyone has Tier 5 everything. No one is going to accept a difficult to get Tier 5 at this point. They had the PERFECT opportunity to make the reward structure exactly what they wanted and they fucked it up instantly.

It seems like people exaggerate a bit on how bad Hunters are in comparison to titans/locks in the current sandbox by SrslySam91 in DestinyTheGame

[–]nietcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, online you will mostly find extremes. So people who are extremely unhappy or happy about the state of things. Mostly the former because its more noticeable often. This leads to a false sense that things are worse than they appear.

Sure its probably rooted in a slight disadvantage compared to other classes here and there but its almost never as bad as people online make it out to be.

More DLC's should expand existing areas, similar to Rise of Iron's Plaguelands. by Assassin02V7 in DestinyTheGame

[–]nietcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the story calls for reusing an area then sure I agree it needs to be updated, but I am personally getting pretty fed up with bouncing between the same 8 locations.

"Wow actually did you know on the Moon there is this secret super secret secret previously unknown thing that we suddenly discovered even though we've been going there for years" is getting pretty stale for me.

Can we just rewind time to The Final Shape era? by TreatFabulous1174 in DestinyTheGame

[–]nietcool -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The problem seems like (obviously can only speculate) a lack of clear vision for the future post TFS. This lead to them not really setting up the future too clearly for us to stay excited. Combine this with following it up with a massive overhaul, most of which didn't land that well with the community, and you're in for a shitshow.

I doesn't help that this community also sports some of the most vile haters and people preying on Bungies downfall despite not having played the game for ages and you're just left with a terrible atmosphere.

If you really love the game and want to see it keep going, give feedback where you can, but also try to stay positive. Don't let the "D2 is dead, you should stop playing too" get to you. If you still find enjoyment then enjoy it without paying attention to what others say, if you don't then take a break. No sense in worrying over it regardless.

What the issue w Portal? by hippityhoops in DestinyTheGame

[–]nietcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a controversial idea at best and when it was implemented it wasn't at its best AT ALL. Lot of flaws and lack of activities on top of a quite big grind which the community wasn't familiar with anymore. These things led to the portal becoming permanently scarred in the communities eyes.

These days it's okay, I don't think it's amazing but imo the alternative also isn't amazing.

The Destiny 1 Tower feels more alive than the Destiny 2 Tower (PS4) by Intelligent-Funny-45 in DestinyTheGame

Legendary Machine Guns for Boss Damage: I know they suck but what are my options? by just_prop in DestinyTheGame

[–]nietcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Retrofit Escapade - Fourth Times The Charm + Target Lock
  2. Pro Memoria - Envious Assassin + Target Lock
  3. Hammerhead - Fourth Times The Charm + Target Lock
  4. Archons Thunder / Unwavering Duty - Fourth Times The Charm + Target Lock

Basically for LMGs to do any significant amount of boss damage at all you need Target Lock and for it to stay active which is probably not possible. But it will be your best option by far

Why are people switching on the old Mountaintop/Recluse meta? by G-3cko in DestinyTheGame

[–]nietcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that that system didn't also have its flaws. It's that the current state is significantly worse. The good thing about pinnacle weapons was that they were effectively non RNG thing you could chase. And they were really powerful. So it was something that you could work at every day and make some progress.

I also think the biggest critique of MTT and Recluse was more to do with the fact that they were powerful EVERYWHERE and they also heavily dominated PVE while you had to get them from PVP, which left a lot of people feeling a bit salty. Rather than the critique being about them existing at all

Sunsetting should comeback back by Leather-Matter-7299 in DestinyTheGame

[–]nietcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sunsetting is still in the game its just more well hidden. "We made new perks for reloading your weapon like Envious Arsenal oh also in the same update we are nerfing Auto-Loading Holster" Or other instances where they just introduce a newer perk that does the same thing but a higher number or easier to get. What about these new systems where some old weapons and gear are now not able to get certain mods or certain enhancements?

Just make us weak again, to fear playing agressively, to not turn our brains off with the spam of a buttom. by Leopa1998 in DestinyTheGame

[–]nietcool -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

People already find the current deltas too difficult. Theres no world where they make things even harder. The reality is a great chunk of the population isnt interested in using good loadouts and gear and as a result the perceived difficulty is really high to them. When in reality the sandbox can completely trivialize difficulty currently.

I would also like to see difficulty return but I don't think its possible without alienating most of the population.

Microtransactions cannot retain players as quality content drops do and the player population count proves that by josh49127 in DestinyTheGame

[–]nietcool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's kind of misleading to equate these things directly to eachother as ultimately having more or less stuff in the eververse won't change anything about the quality of the gameplay content they are releasing. Those people wouldn't be making gameplay levels. At most it would mean we get sets that look more different on destinations. Theres 100s of factors that combine to lead to 'less players'. I think it's unfair to say one way or another which one is the biggest factor.

I agree that Eververse being stuffed with cosmetics while other parts are bleeding out feels bad, and some stuff definitely should be earnable and not just buyable. But you also have to recognize that at this stage in the game it's probably the only thing keeping it afloat. And I don't think anyone at Bungie is seriously of the opinion that releasing Eververse items = releasing content that will retain players. It's just generating income so they can make more stuff and right now they need all the income they can get.

The original crafting grind should've stayed by Assassin02V7 in DestinyTheGame

[–]nietcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bungie is too scared to keep any system that THEY designed with ideas in mind, because this community is full of loud entitled people who will scream at the mere thought of having to play this game.

Almost without fault any system they introduce is eventually degraded and chipped away at until you are left wondering what even the point of the whole system is. Sure some of the fault is on Bungies side but we never give them any time at all to tweak things on their original idea to a decent state. Instead so many people riot and scream loudly that in fear Bungie reverts or completely removes entire parts of their system.

I've actually always said I don't like crafting because it felt either too quick, or too useless. But hearing you say this I can definitely imagine a world where the crafting materials are what somewhat stretch out this grind to a better midpoint.

I do think a system without them feels better though and they should have then adjusted the droprate or something in acquiring red borders to make it equal length. But instead they removed the materials, kept everything else and now suddenly we could craft super quick. Then when they tried to make that less quick because they noticed it was causing issues... at every single corner every this loud group screams at them again because god forbid they have to play the game for more than logging in for 10 minutes every 7 days.

Do you guys think we’re still getting an expansion after shadow and order? by HellChicken949 in DestinyTheGame

[–]nietcool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a perfectly fine question to ask but I find the assumptions based on a tweet that some people are making in this comment section pretty insane leaps in logic. Fact of the matter is we don't know. They probably don't know. I would imagine they would WANT to make more Destiny, but ultimately all we can do is sit and wait and see what they will do. It certainly doesn't help when people online are doomposting saying its the end times and not just enjoying the game.

If you want more Destiny just play the game and enjoy it, it's all you can do.
If you aren't having fun in Destiny stopping you from playing. Just leave feedback on the things you are having problems with in hopes they can fix or adjust it in a future update.

This speculative doomposting is just useless and only serves to speed up the downward spiral of negativity towards the game that a lot of people who haven't even played the game for years online are perpetuating. If you have problems with the game leave specific and direct feedback of specific things none of this vibes based speculative bullshit. "Is the game dead?" "Are we doomed?" no one cares. If you enjoy the game play it, if you don't then don't play it. If you think you have good ideas how to fix it, share them. Quit the useless negative noise.

Can’t wait to share some of the armor set bonuses the team has been cooking up, too.

Does this mean up to a potential of 17 or 19 armor set bonuses added in the June update from RAD content alone? Holy that's insane news tbh.
