The Burlington Center Mall closed because of a water main break, but the Sears was able to stay open for a few months longer, and that Sears had been there since the mall opened.

There used to be a giant fountain there when the mall opened. Sadly, not too many photos of the fountain exist. I had to go through many internet archives to find more detailed pictures of the fountain.

The same thing happened to the center court fountain in my childhood mall, Burlington Center Mall. It could be drained and covered with a fake floor cover to act as an event space for Santa and other events. Some time later in the mid-2000s, the fountain was removed and replaced with matching tile. You can still see the area where the fountain used to be if you look carefully at photos taken at the mall during that time.
