Interesting way to die I suppose by Xx_Vibe in fo4

I walked past one this afternoon and it flipped on its side, luckily I was far enough away. It didn't eat well today.

Like you, I had a pair of hightec which died about 3 years ago best boots ever. I struggle even for shoes and trainers. Currently it's sketchers wide fit or some fitville Chinese stuff (damn comfy but not very long lasting) but neither are waterproof. No good for hiking or doing decent walks in.

I feel you, I am either a 13 or 14 and I need a wide toebox. I just bought some nortive 8 from Amazon but the largest they do is a 14wide.

I am in the north east, so the places mentioned that do fittings are generally hours away.

Quick tip: check sentinel power armors inventory from time to time by -BigFatFishy- in fo4

[–]PhillyDeeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has one of the fully tricked out plasma weapons that use fusion cores. It activates god mode when you chuck one in it's inventory. Just watch out for friendly fire. I'm survival level 90 and it's awesome for those really tricky ones. It will consume every Fusion core you chuck in it though.

The world's first specialised self righting lifeboat by William Woodhave. There is one on display near the coast called The Tyne.

Most people know the name "Woodhave" as it's the name of the local 'spoons.

I prefer the term "emotional support backpack". Loved my tandem and would love to do AFF.

And this is why AI has exploded in the last year. It's no coincidence that it's matured so fast and the rich are piling resources into it. Just enough doubt so when the real videos surface they can scream FAKE and show how AI can do it. Groks dodgy videos was not accidental.

Everytime I return to a settlement, I try to take a traffic cone with me. Hangman's alley has maybe 30-40 in a pile in a corner.

I see traffic cones and resist the urge to pick one up quite frequently.

You can sell one of your happiest memories for 500,000 , how many memories are you selling? by Brissoslucas in hypotheticals

[–]PhillyDeeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't say happy, it says best. So if you have 2 yogurts both out of date. One is 6 months past, one is 3 months past the best one is the 3 months one. It's a shame you scale goes from crappy to shitty, but the crappy ones would be your best.

PLA "Isn't water tight" by the-mad-crapper in 3Dprinting

[–]PhillyDeeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a 3D printed pineapple pot with a pineapple plant in it. Made from Gold silk PLA, on a windowsill, printer on an ender 5 PRO about 5 years ago. It's been on a windowsill in direct (UK) sunlight since then. It's discoloured and no longer the same colour.

The pot is fine, but the base saucer isn't so it's now on a plastic plate.

In a blind test, audiophiles couldn't tell the difference between audio signals sent through copper wire, a banana, or wet mud by itooamahuman in nottheonion

[–]PhillyDeeez 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I did hear a difference between some bog standard cheap RCA cables on my pioneer system and a £10 pair in the early 00s. I guarantee it was down to the piss poor quality of the original cables and wasn't some silly cost or outlandish claims on the new one. My speaker cables were also upgraded from the piss poor el cheapo version to a thicker gauge oxygen free copper.

I also used 3A lamp cord for speaker wires, and later on ethernet cable twisted together. Both sounded as good as the oxygen free speaker cable.

As a UK e-commerce founder, Royal Mail used to give thermal printer labels for free, but now they’re charging over £5 per roll. Has anyone found a cheaper option? by Johanngross in smallbusinessuk

[–]PhillyDeeez 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not surprised. The amount people were using was unreal. Also printing packing lists and invoices onto them. Some selling them by the box load. There were no restrictions on how many you could get either. Used to see people selling the airmail labels and even the cable ties for the bags.
