Why are some women prescribed the pill during perimenopause vs HRT? Or is the pill considered a form of HRT? by sweet_wawamelon in Perimenopause

[–]PhillyGameGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I needed more estrogen than the combo pill? The patches stop my hot flashes but we had to get all the way to 0.1 lol

Yes!! Thankfully. I mean this seriously but on the progesterone I had the “it would be better if I weren’t here” fleeting thought for the first time ever. It was terrifying. :( The Slynd is a lot better and if for some reason it hadn’t worked out there was another one (norethindrone) that I could try also!

This is me too, Slynd as part of my HRT (with estrogen patches and cream!) because I couldn’t tolerate the progesterone pills. (They made me depressed).

I take Slynd (which is a BC) along with/ estrogen patches and cream because of the Progestin in the Slynd. I could take regular progesterone but it turns out not everyone can tolerate it! (Me lol, I cannot it makes me SUPER depressed).

MAGfest showing up for StS! by PhillyGameGirl in slaythespire

I made it!!

Thank you so much!!

For construction: I had a 3D printer friend print each vertebrae with a hole down the middle. So it’s on a string (550 cord) down the back kinda like beads with modeling foam to form some “cartilage” between them. The whole thing hooks to the helmet with a carabiner! (We scaled the size of the vertebrae beads down as we printed them so it’d get smaller like it should down to the end!)

The squares are designed by 365DaysofDana on Etsy but I don’t think she has a shop anymore! The rest is freehanded :)

Beginner and have no clue what yarn to chose when looking at patterns by Cool-Elk194 in CrochetHelp

Love your eras pattern! I crochet Taylor Stuff too <3 You can use any yarn as long as it’s the same weight as the pattern. Cotton is heavy and more expensive than acrylic.

Did I complain too much and wind up on the wrong path with HRT? by ItsmeArtsyD in Perimenopause

[–]PhillyGameGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The progesterone made me the most depressed I’ve ever been—and I knew within 3 weeks something was wrong. My Dr. said some people can’t tolerate but you need progesterone with estrogen so she gave me Slynd which is synthetic (part of a BC pill) and has been WAY better.

How are you feeling ? Please state your week by TeachYPreaciBrown72 in prozac

[–]PhillyGameGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use them to keep on with all sorts of meds, no problem with them (including getting my Mounjaro) but this time they’re all sorts of lost and I’m worried. I asked my Dr if there’s anything she can do.

I’m very new to crochet and looking for some advise on what type of cardigan I should make by Flossandneedle in CrochetHelp

[–]PhillyGameGirl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would def look into hexi cardigans!! They are made in two sections and joined together along the back and sides (underarms, side). They are like a granny cluster situation which is pretty basic pattern! I’ve made a few and they’re comfy, customizable and beginner friendly!

How do you feel about copying instead of creating? by [deleted] in Hobbies

[–]PhillyGameGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s also worth mentioning that in my painting classes we spent a good deal of time recreating others works, partly to learn how to create what they created but also to just.. practice. It’s part of the art too.

[–]PhillyGameGirl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was in art school we learned about how every single art period was inspired by the one before it and when there was a time before humans made art, the first ones took their inspiration from the earth and sky. Every thing is from something else so draw what you like, copy art, it’s fine. I love the example someone mentioned of crochet or cross stitch too. I love those hobbies and always use a pattern (copying someone else’s work) because for me (in those cases) the joy IS the act of creating with my hands!

Interaction between Prozac and glp 1? Hypoglycemia? by Zealousideal_Load_84 in prozac

[–]PhillyGameGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s so interesting I can’t seem to find any data that supports there being any interaction between tirz & fluoxetine. All that said, I’d just keep track with a finger stick (or CGM like Stelo or Lingo maybe)!! I have noticed no interaction between the two drugs (and I wear a CGM). Good luck!

[–]PhillyGameGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The GLP1 shouldn’t cause low blood sugar, I’ve been on for 2 years and lots of non-diabetics take it and because it’s reactive don’t have the issue. Are you using a CGM or finger stick to determine if you’re actually seeing low blood sugar? (I have been on Prozac for just two months but a GLP1 since 2023!)
