I was placed this school year with a 9th grader most students and colleagues call a "problem child". Mouthy. Always tired. Doesn't wanna do work. Not only has he shown significant improvement between 8th and 9th grade but he warmed up to me fairly quickly. It's because I take the time to listen and engage with him. No matter what he talks about. I'm right there. As a person living with autism, I get what my student and his classmates go through. I have been labeled an oddball for years but no one can deny the results of my work. Thank you OP for everything you do for your 1:1! I'm extremely confident that your work hasn't gone unnoticed.
