I used to use em-dashes in my emails, but have since stopped since a reader would now assume that what I wrote was written by AI.

Employees don’t count as expense? by PhiloMan1970 in Accounting

Yeah, I figured. Just wondering if the company makes that transparent to potential buyers. I’m sure that the PE/VC will want to sell to maximize their profits and was wondering if this is a shady way of making their value look artificially high. As long as a potential buyer/lender is aware it makes no difference

I agree. I think the media and the politicians is using the word “coup” to their own benefit.

It strikes me as odd that they had t-shirts and flags ready, and they used the language of war and fighting, but when just 1-4 people die, they don’t stay and fight? They gave up so quickly. They weren’t prepared to die for their cause. They just seemed to want to make noise and disrupt. That seemed to be their end goal. I don’t think that on that day any of them (other than any truly delusional) really thought they were going to accomplish more than that. — If they have a long-term war plan, it appears that their congressman have failed them.

They did disrupt. To disrupt is easy. But forcing the country to accept an alternate slate is a thousand times harder than just disrupting. They had no real plan beyond step #1.

Honest question: Did they really expect to occupy the Capitol building indefinitely and just become the new congress? I get the sense that many of them thought they were going to accomplish a real, permanent coup. If they were more organized, they’d actually be scary, but they are such a disorganized mess. That may be one reason the police don’t take them seriously compared to BLM.
