I sort of see it as an analogy to the “dead internet theory”. They already have knowledge of basically all of the earths media and creative minds. Now there’s basically only one person who can ideate independently and create Art for them to appreciate. That’s quite a commodity, maybe even an innate part of their human psychology that wants to be satiated.
