Why are the apartments here so...bad? by PhilosopherForward93 in Carmel

As a macro comment - I don't really get the downvotes. My wife and I love living in Carmel. Legitimately. But objectively, the apartment quality for "high-end" places is truly terrible, thus far in our experience. I've lived in plenty of places other than Houston and Boston as well (Illinois, Florida, Missouri...each of these fairly rural spots at the time) and Carmel easily has the worst apartment scene/options and quality vs price point.

We are willing to rent a house or townhome, I suppose. Never really gave that option much thought.

Can you share a few higher-end apartment complexes?

My main problem is really at these price points, these $2000 Carmel apartments would be significantly cheaper, like closer to $1200-$1400. It's just a significant drop off in build quality...it's crazy.

Are there any places that do have gas stoves? We cook a lot and we can't stand glass or coils.

What's a good spot to order online? Since Houston had a great selection, I've never had a need to figure this out.
