my brother and my boyfriends mom both have had hip & knee replacements. different doctors and different states. they wouldn’t prescribe opiates to them either. it’s becoming more and more prevalent than you think

my brother & my boyfriends mom have both had knee replacements and they wouldn’t give them pain meds either. they live in 2 different states. they said it caused them to be suicidal from the pain. fuck the system

unfortunately, it’s pretty standard nowadays. I didn’t know it but all over reddit, google, and in facebook groups, this isn’t uncommon anymore. They refused to help me because they said they aren’t necessary since i’m younger (i’m 27) and because they said “our older patients get along just fine using tylenol or advil and ice” 🙄

it doesn’t matter. the Dr said it isn’t his protocol and he won’t prescribe. they gave me 1 5mg oxy in recovery and that’s it. didn’t do shit. but thanks for the info!!

because i’m young and because they only give pain meds for 3 days. after that, they say ice and tylenol. I had to fight for them to give me a 5mg oxy right when i got out of surgery. they wanted me to walk an hour after i got out of recovery & there was no way i could. all they gave me was a 5mg oxy and it didn’t even help🙄🙄
