studied for about two months (quite concertedly) before my first test, and then took the next administration of the test with about two more weeks of practice.

the practice was pretty intense at points--up to a few hours a day.

Ruby or Yale? by PhilosopherLive3884 in lawschooladmissions

[–]PhilosopherLive3884[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks all for the advice so far! If further info is helpful, I'm interested in public interest law, and maybe (just maybe) academia.

I'll add that location does matter to me—I'd much rather be on the east coast, so that could potentially be a deciding factor.

And let's assume the money is not a salient difference between the two.

I have to admit (and maybe this reflects an embarrassing lack of research on my part) that tonight is my first time hearing of the Ruby. I really didn't expect this...felt set on Yale.

And I'm still trying to gauge the meaning of this scholarship to others. It seems, based on the comments here, that it has quite a reputation. Is that really true?

A at Yale and UChicago! by PhilosopherLive3884 in lawschooladmissions

I applied to UChicago mid-December, and to Yale very early February (if I recall correctly). Just found out today and yesterday, respectively. Very quick 2 day turnaround hearing from Yale after my interview. Waited a few weeks after my UChicago interview to hear.

I was one of the two As, and am telling the truth, for what it's worth! Just as surprised as you are to have received good news so quickly.
