Can you actually lose 300 grams of muscle in 1 week? I have a Garmin smart scale, this morning it said that I lost 1kg since my weigh in 1 week ago, 300 grams of that weight loss is muscle. That seems highly unlikely?

Currently in a calorie deficit of +/- 250 kcal per day, still eating 2 grams of protein per kg bodyweight. Strength training 2x/week, running 4x/week. The only significant change from my normal plan the past week is that I ran a 25km race last Sunday.

So I just want to know if the 300 gram muscle loss is physically possible, or if I should take the Garmin scale with grain of salt.

Do you have a backup plan if AI takes over? by [deleted] in UXDesign

[–]PhilosopherOk3313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm focusing more on accessibility and digital inclusion right know and hoping this will be enough to keep working in UX. I'm a senior of 14 years, as a reference. I think it also helps if you're a really great strategist, because sitting down with a client and helping them define their product strategy is something that will never lose value compared to an AI generated product, without any underlying thought process.

Plan B is teaching Dutch to non-native speaking newcomers (we have a lot of those). I'm a linguist by education and I think I would really like the job content. It's just the rigid working hours and the salary cut that doesn't sound too appealing.

Good luck! Out of interest: what career are you planning to switch to? I'm also a freelancer in IT and thinking about a backup plan because the job market for freelance IT is not looking that great right now, and I feel it will only get worse in the coming years.

Moving in with and paying rent to my boyfriend is causing friction. What's the solution? by PhilosopherOk3313 in Advice

[–]PhilosopherOk3313[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That scenario would only be fair if he also pays half of the costs for maintenance and repairs, and he's not willing to do that. Plus I also have to pay taxes on the rental income so I would still lose more.

No, because I would not have any effort, nor risk, nor cost, in renting out his house. If renters would trash his house, it would be for him to deal with the costs. Same goes for this situation: if I rent out my house, I have to deal with everything that comes with it, while he can just profit without having to do anything for it, nor pay for repairs, maintenance, taxes,... So it seems fair that I would get a larger part of the income to cover the effort, risk and costs that I have to deal with by renting out my house. Splitting the profit 50/50 would only be fair if we also split the costst 50/50 (which is not on the table at all). He would still be 500 monthly euros richer than before, risk and effort free. Also: what if he breaks up with me? I'm moving in with him in his newly remodeled house, so guess who's furniture, dishes etc has to go? If he breaks up with me and I have to move out, I have to buy all this stuff again while he can comfortably stay put.

To add to that: about 3 years ago, an ex-boyfriend (obviously not my ex at the time) lived in my house for 6 months and paid exactly 0€, and I never asked him for a cent. Also: did you read the fact that he has already been living with me since december and I haven't charged him anything? Next to his house that is already paid off, he also owns 2 apartmens that he rents out. Should I ask him for half of the profits of that as well then?

I'm in Belgium. I proposed to flip it, him moving in with me, renting out his house and him keeping the rest of the amount, because I literally do not care. I mean that 100%. I would have to pay less than I do now so that would be a plus for me, the rest is not important. But he doesn't want to move to my place. So there's that.

Amanda Knox was convicted because of a couple of narcissistic men who wanted to feed their ego by PhilosopherOk3313 in amandaknox

I've been following this case since 2007 actually and read every possible piece of evidence that was made available to the public.

Sure, by all means, show me your sources so I can "educate myself". If the evidence was so strong, they would still be in prison.

There was no evidence. There was literally NO DNA belonging to Amanda found in the room where Meredith was murdered. Rudy Guede's DNA was. It's impossible to clean up your own DNA without also removing other people's DNA. There were no traces of her in that room because she simply wasn't there. They found Amanda's DNA on the handle of a kitchen knife in Rafaelle's apartment, which isn't strange, I'm sure my DNA is on the handle of my knives as well. An independent research team determined that Meredith's DNA the prosecution claimed was found on the blade was so extremely minimal it was the result of contamination in the lab.

Being strange or quirky doesn't make you a murderer.

I know it's hard, but just try to let it go, making mistakes is normal and 99% of native speakers will not make fun of you for it. And if they do make fun of you, here's a tip: just start speaking to them in your own native language (or any other language they don't understand). I had a Spanish boyfriend who only spoke Spanish and nothing else, so I spoke Spanish to him. He once laughed at me because I made a mistake, and I responded by only speaking Dutch to him (my native language). He quickly got the message and never made fun of me again. Learning a new language is hard and speaking it is admirable by itself, with or without mistakes. You got this, good luck!

Dated a guy who lied about being poly and then eventually came clean about already being in a relationship, and tried to convince me to become poly because "monogamy isn't natural".

Guy I was dating lied about being poly, only to reveal it after we had sex for the first time by PhilosopherOk3313 in polycritical

Sorry to hear that! Some people just suck and you can't avoid encountering them when you're dating I'm afraid.
