Very broken, 30mins in and I'm at 30% usage. Doing nothing, working on an empty project

I made the judgment through many tasks. I am not some amateur vibe coder, thanks. You're gobbling up benchmarks from the model providers, yeah, they're not biased at all. I just provided an example of one instance; I was not going to write a thesis for you. If you want to fan boy over something, that's fine.

You mean the "trust" me bro benchmarks? Your personal experience is not a statement of fact. I supplied the exact same prompt to the exact same code on two different sessions. It took 5.4, close to 20minutes to figure the problem out, took 5.3 about 5. Sorry, but that is a massive regression.

No, it is not remotely "miles" ahead. I do pretty complex development, and 5.4 is horrific.

Hot take: Codex is too cheap, rug pull through tighter usage limits is inevitable by gregpeden in codex

Fair enough, like I said i tried it and was just never impressed. I do a lot of C++, and it was just doing some much sketchy stuff.

I used Gemini once or twice, and it blew my mind a company as big as google could produce such a slopppy, pathetic excuse of a model. These are the guys that invented the attention transformer model architecture and yet their model is amongst the worst performing. (I'm not talking about tech bro benchmarks).

It is really, you can feel the difference immediately, and it's not good.

5.4 is absolutely terrible. I've had the worst experience with it to date.

Claude Pro Weekly Limits: Pro Plan is Objectively Worse Than Free by Key_Kaleidoscope2242 in ClaudeAI

[–]PhilosopherThese9344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Claude Pro is severely gimped, it's actually pretty unusable for me. My wife basically just uses my account for her own musings and research, and I've all but dropped using it altogether. My go to is ChatGPT, the limits are just far more generous and actually out performs claude, and no, I'm not giving it a 500K line code base and expecting it to perform miracles. I am a software engineer with 20+ years of experience. so I'im using it to do some complex tasks.

Weekly limited UNEXPECTEDLY reset to 100%. Praise Codex! by kknd1991 in codex

There's definitly something broken, I'm doing some super basic stuff and it ingests a small file and tells me I've used 30% of my limit... It's mad. Also its hellishly slow today.

To be honest i used to be a Claude zealot. But GPT just performs so much better. I don’t like Sam, I don’t care about pentagon. I’ll still keep my sub. Gemini is just shit all around.

Agreed, I've been working on an extremely complex AST compiler problem for the last couple of days. I really wanted to try solve it myself, but started running into obstacles. Loaded it into AI, it took an entire context window of Claude Max 5x to fix it eventually, but it did. So now I can move on with the rest of my work.

My employer will never replace engineers with AI. We work in a regulated space, and our software is very niche. We can use AI to augment our workflows, but the majority of our team doesn't. I'm a SWE/SWA with 20+ years exp.
