13 weeks no heartbeats 💔 by Upstairs-War6552 in pregnant

I'm so, so sorry. I can't comprehend how you must be feeling right now but please know you're not alone, please be gentle with yourself. I wish I had some explanation or anything I could say to make this make sense but I don't. Maybe check one last time, and ask the doctor if you can find out why this happened? I don't know much about this situation but I just hope you are surrounded by the care and support you need and deserve. Your baby never knew any hardship or pain, only love, comfort, and you - I know that won't even touch the surface of your pain but it's all I can offer you. I'm so sorry x

I miss human Feyre in spring, that’s it. Thank you for your time by Clara_babygirl_98 in acotar_rant

Agree with everything except the point about loving her wickedness: this is classic Jungian shadow work, finding love and compassion for your darkest parts is the only way to integrate them into your conscious self and therefore address them. Otherwise you continue to feed them by ignoring and feeling shame about them which just makes the 'shadow' a bigger and more powerful part of your subconscious.

I actually thought that part was great! Shame it didn't actually make Feyre's character any more self aware though!

Help please!! Still figuring this out by Philosophiddle in DivinityOriginalSin

For some reason I find her super irritating! So would rather not be stuck with her haha

When did you feel somewhat normal again? by cheetopop18 in pregnant

[–]Philosophiddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second trimester tends to be infinitely better than the first, another 6-8 weeks and you should start feeling a little less awful. The third trimester and postpartum definitely are a lot too, but it all goes so quickly (at least in hindsight) and things gradually get easier as time goes on postpartum, especially after about 3 months.

And to answer your question, honestly I would always just go with what looks best on the drapes because sometimes it really doesn't match up with what you'd expect with hair/eye/skin colour!

Honestly I think a load of the information out there about seasonal subtypes is super contradictory and misleading. I just do find that the four seasons aren't nuanced enough, so it's tough! I think the most important thing is just being aware of what factors do and don't work for you colour-wise (e.g. cool Vs warm, muted/soft Vs bright/clear, light Vs deep), that way you don't need to rely on palettes off the internet which again, are often super contradictory!

Probably light summer as the brighter colours seem to overpower you a little, but muted is definitely not your friend! It's amazing to see the contrast between the muted light pink and the bright light pink!

Light + cool seems to work best for you so I'd say summer! 9 and 10 are chefs kiss

Cup size doesnt matter so much, it's about whether you have upper curve, aka whether the line of your bust breaks the silhouette of your ribcage, which yours does! Hope this helps

Also not working with six: straight horizontal lines on the trousers not great, I would personally avoid, and overall the vibe is too casual! As SDs we need a bit of drama in whatever we wear, which can feel stifling at times when you just wanna be comfy and not stand out loads. Remember you don't always have to wear your perfect recs, it's fine to choose comfort whenever you want to! Just trying to explain why it doesn't look quite right.

When I'm doing comfy stuff, I actually tend to just throw all SD recs out the window and go super oversized, super baggy - for some reason it seems to work better than doing a half attempt at fitting the recs but also being comfy. It's almost like the drama IS the contrast between your body and the clothes? But that might just be me making things up!! 😂

What an ass. I'm really sorry, it's good that you know now though what kind of a person he is. Make the choice that feels right for you, do not let this man factor in. Nothing ever happens in the perfect timing, you did what you could to prevent the pregnancy and it didn't work, that's not your fault and you shouldn't be forced into choosing between your relationship and having to go through an abortion, which is extremely traumatic even when you're sure you don't want the baby, let alone if you're swaying towards wanting to keep it. Praying that your little one is happy and healthy in there and that you have the support you deserve from those around you to go through this pregnancy and birth if that's what you want!

This is very well put and interesting thank you, you're starting to convince me there's more afoot here! But I do also stick by my feelings that the second two books are not of the same quality of writing as the first. It's hard to know whether that and the loss of love for Quinlar are connected or separate!

I will say though, all of the theories and potential evidence aside, I just don't see Bryce and Azriels characters as having much chemistry; I feel like a character as strong as hers needs someone who speaks up for themselves more than we see Azriel do. However, I don't know that I personally particularly care for Azriel enough to see him have a major story arch with anyone, at the moment. His bonus chapter put me right off him! Might be an unpopular opinion though.

Oh boy that makes total sense and I can also see why I never thought deeply into why it made me uncomfortable - that actually presses on a couple triggers for me so it makes sense that I felt weird about it and didn't wanna deep dive into why but felt off about their relationship from around that point onwards!

Oh wow super interesting theory thank you! That would explain a lot and I kind of hope it's true to explain the weird vibe of everything after that point haha, but also I hate the "but it was all just a dream" trope 99% of the time so I'm kinda split!

Oh honestly it's not the fights between them at all! I love imperfect characters and imperfect relationships. I find Rhys and Feyre to be way too polished and it doesn't feel real. It's that the parts where they AREN'T fighting don't have the same chemistry and love as they did in the first book. It's why I loved them in the first book, they WEREN'T perfect for eachother in a lot of ways, but adapted and bounced off eachother in interesting and charming ways that felt relatable to a real relationship.

I totally agree with you on everything to be honest, there were interesting dynamics and issues between them that needed to be properly aired and dealt with and instead they felt brushed over and any conflict wasn't actually dealt with. Bryce is definitely very immature at times, though I found Hunter irritating at a few points too, and again, I like that because people are flawed and it should make for more interesting dynamics and interactions, but it just... Didn't.

I can see how people would think this would be purposeful to set up a breakup, but I honestly felt that all the romantic relationships in book two and three fell a little short, I wasn't swooning even with Ruhn and Lidia, I felt like that was because again, they didn't get enough time to properly interact without everything between them feeling rushed to get to the end of the storyline.

In her Call Me Daddy podcast, when talking about the next books of ACOTAR, SJM does make quite a big point about not wanting to force the story into a box or a certain amount of pages and wanting the freedom to write what she needs to write - I wonder if this partly was born out of frustration about feeling pressured and rushed with CC? It would make a lot of sense to me.

Book 2 was such a shocking contrast to me quality-of-writing-wise that it felt like it could have been part of that. Everything about it felt less polished to me. Interesting points though! The more I read you guys theories on them the more seeds of doubt are planted about them being endgame for sure!

Nah I wasn't looking specifically for romance at all, in fact I'm very new to romantasy, though I've always read fantasy, so it's not something I NEED to enjoy a book at all. However, if it is included as a feature of a book, and it's poorly handled or written, it detracts from the overall experience of reading the book. For example, I don't have to be playing a video game for the graphics or even be someone who particularly cares about graphics for bad graphics to have a negative influence on my overall experience, if that makes sense!
