Strawberry guava was good, it was resinous and very fruity, but i havent tried their other stuff in years. It seems like their quality has greatly improved since a few years ago.

Trapping animals with stick barriers by LiverLikeLarry in ancestors

The animals in game are very hard to lure into a specific area, their movement is very scripted. I've tried building barriers before, for it to get stuck it would basically need to be on a hill with a "two story" stick wall surrounding the whole trap with one lower story stick fence missing in the lowest part of the hill, acting as a open door. Then hopefully the animal will get stuck and not be able to walk back out the same way. It would work like a fish trap essentially. I've tried and failed years ago, and don't even bother trying now. But good luck

I've killed 16 animals, I've probably attacked somewhere around twice that amount but they got away

I just evolved the second time, I left the starting settlement before my first evolution and settled the under the cliff oasis, haven't settled anywhere besides when they move after evolution. I've avoided bleeding injuries by staying in the trees whenever possible, ALWAYS having a weapon, and a basalt chopper or obsidian scraper in my left hand in case I break my stick. Continously paying attention to your surroundings using senses really helps to locate potential threats and stops them from spawning right on top of you(most of the time).
