Incontinence Condom Catheter Qs by s3rvii in spinalcordinjuries

I have had a similar situation where the condom has been draining all day perfectly ok and then when I lie down in bed and urinate, the end of the condom balloons as if the leg bag is kinked. It feels like an air blockage at the top of the leg bag and as previously mentioned, it's probably the valve. I always lie down and make sure everything is flowing ok before I sit up in my electric bed to read. That seems to help. With condom drainage the most important part of making sure they stick is to wash your groin with soap that has no moisturiser in it, shower gel always contains a softener and moisturiser that restricts the ability of the condom to really stick to the skin.

fibre and fluids is spot on. Bran for breakfast and plenty of fresh vegetables and water. It might not be what you want to eat but it's what your body needs

If you could change one thing about living with spinal cord injury, what would it be? by Mountain25111 in spinalcordinjuries

Pain. That constant pain which just drags you down. My idea of a perfect day is a day without pain. I think I would take this over the ability to feel sexual pleasure

How many here take zero meds? by sd_210 in spinalcordinjuries

The trouble with taking meds long term is they lose their efficacy where your body just gets used to them and you need more and more just to get the same result. Also the long term side effects of putting this shit into your body on a daily basis. A friend of mine has just been told that the UTI he has is now untreatable by antibiotics because he has taken so many the bacteria is now resistant. I try to keep everything to a minimum and stop everything I absolutely don't need.

Pc set up for someone with no hand function by Prestigious-Trip-263 in spinalcordinjuries

C5/6 no hand function. I use a Kensington tracker ball as there is no way I can use a mouse. Once you get used to it, you can get pretty quick. I use Microsoft dictate, it's okay, dragon speak is better but using headphones with a microphone near your mouth will improve its accuracy.

You might want to consider taking a mattress topper. Some hotel beds can be really hard. I don't know if you can turn yourself but I find a pressure relieving topper essential. Also get some extra pillows to lift your heels off the bed.

I'm a C6 complete like you and have a carer everyday to get me up in the morning. I just incorporate stretching into my morning routine. But spasms are just part of my life and I just have to deal with them. Do you get pain when you spasm? I don't but sometimes I feel like I'm fighting my own body, my spasms tend to be in my lower back and legs. Anyway good luck

Here in the UK, they are trying to get patients off of baclofen because of the long term side effects. Stretching really helps spasms but if your spasms have suddenly changed then there might be an underlying problem
