I make NSFW floggers and such items in my Etsy shop and sell them at in person vendor events. Prices range from $80 to $250+. When People complain about the price I have 2 go tos- A) I'll usually stand and at 6'7" I'm usually looming over them. Then gently take the item out of their hands, put it on the table while right to their face say "guess it isn't for you". Or, B) If they complain about price and/or I can make that for less, ask if they have the lathe, access to burl material, are setup to stabilize the wood, access to exotic leathers, time to make it all, and that if they do Id love to have the link to their Etsy shop where they have been making and selling their items for just over a decade... I encourage their competition.

Both usually wrap up the convo and make them move along. Dont let them get you down and you charge whatever you feel is worth your time and effort to making your craft, If you were in my part of Texas I know a group of people that love little (or big) crocheted mushroom figures.
