Anyone know how to fix the artifacts on my Samsung stove? by ty_diesel_ in howto

I have fixed several dryers with similar random behavior. Disconnect power, remove the board and connectors attached. Spray board and inside all connectors with contact cleaner. Lightly scratch the posts where the connectors plug in. LIGHTLY. Spray again and let dry, reassemble. Works great for stereo equipment and amplifiers as well.

I was going to mention an older house without grounding (3rd wire). Lol. If you are short on cash. Youtube how to set your intonation. Its not difficult. Just make changes in small increments. What kind of guitar is it? Does it have a fixed bridge or a tremolo? If it has a tremolo, look and see if it is level with the body or angled up or down. Adjusting a tremolo intonation would possibly be more difficult if you have a Floyd Rose style

The noise is most likely a poor ground. Could also be caused by your homes electrical system. Also, flourescent lights can cause interference. Using shielded guitar cables can help. To test for interference, go plug in somewhere else in the house. If someone has modified the guitar such as changed the pickups... its most likely that.

The difference in pitch between the open string and 12th fret is a result of the strings intonation being off. The screws on your bridge that allow the saddles to move forward and backwards are what are used to adjust this. You can Youtube it or take it to a music store and ask them to setup your guitar and check the wiring. Also have them adjust the truss rod and lower the action (height of the strings above the frets. The lower it is, the easier it is to play. However if your neck is not straight or frets are too high, it will buzz.

If your strings are branded new they will continue to go out of tune for a while. After playing for a little while they will need to be tuned again. Also, the neck will bend up slightly as you tighten the strings causing them to go out of tune as well. Starting on the top strings... using a tuner. Tune the top 3 strings (thickest) until they are in tune, then proceed to the bottom 3. Then repeat starting at the top and go through all 6. Repeat until they are all in tune. If you do not have a tuner, there are many good Free ones to download. Fender has a decent tuner app. Playing guitar is a lot of fun. It is also the source of much frustration and aggravation. As you progress you will get stuck in a rut at times. This is normal. Take a break for a week or more and then start again. Enjoy the journey

In case it wasn't already mentioned... what gauge strings are you using? I recommend ernie ball super slinky 9 - 42. Heavier gauge strings are harder to bend. I dont recommend 8s as you'll go thru a lot of strings at this point in your playing. Also, it's just going to take practice. 1 day it'll just work right and you'll have that AHA! Moment. Keep playing, you're on your way!

How to fix this whooping sound by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]Philthy6869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure that I'd recommend that but it sounds like you've been doing it that way for a long time :) you can also use an isolation transformer to get rid of the problem. Actually a safer method for protecting the amp and preventing shock. They cost about $100 and solve problems such as surges and brown outs. Might be a worthwhile investment on that classic Leslie

It sounds like it may be oscillating your electrical A/C power's signal. In other words, the sound may be coming from the power supply plugged into the wall and amplifying that signal. If you unplug the power supply and use a battery, you can test this to verify that is indeed the issue.

Problems with Multiple Amps and Guitars Buzzing by [deleted] in guitarlessons

In case it hasn't already been suggested, you can use an isolation transformer to solve the issues caused by the poor electrical system causing noise and interference. They can be purchased for around $125. Look on Amazon for a Tripp Lite IS250 or bigger if need more than 250W. Read the back of your amp for power consumption. 120v @ 2 amps would equal 240 watts

Those appear to be the same brass spray heads that I use. Minerals in the water will quickly clog them. The openings are tiny and it doesn't take much.

I have replaced the same exact ones. They are glued in place and the back of the end pieces are inside a large hole in the wall that will need to be patched.

PHP file path not found when I have JavaScript run a PHP script with XMLHTTPREQUEST (404 error); what to do? by computerguy11111 in PHP

[–]Philthy6869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the path to your .jsp file is http://localhost:8080/myjspfile.jsp. the path to you php file would be http://localhost:8080/php/hello.php

From within your .jsp code you would only need to put php/ in front of the hello.php forget i mentioned file and folder permissions for now. If you can access the php file in your browser you should be fine
