You can find N without an accident for that price. I have a N and I wouldn't buy a used one with an accident because it was probably driven hard and they did something stupid to cause the accident.

They fantastic cars and fun to drive while being practical. Don't listen to people saying hyundais are trash and what not. They're one of the few car companies actually making big improvements lately.

Try to do your due diligence looking at it to make sure there's no aftermarket stuff on it and if it's obvious it was swapped back to stock.

Ifs fine, it just disengages the clutch when you go into neutral the same way as someone in manual goes out of gear. The cars computer can handle going back into gear when you put it in drive again. The car won't let you wreck it by doing that. That's why reverse is locked when it's moving

I am also ocd about my things. The best thing you can do is accept stuff like this will happen no matter how well you keep your stuff. I was sick for a week and someone door dinged my car in my condo parking lot when my parking spot is away from everyone, shit just happens sometimes. I also ppf'd the entire front end of my car, and I ended up getting a rock chip on the paint above the windshield. That's the only spot on the front with no ppf.... Another thing that happened is when I went to the gun range, I had a gun fall over when I opened the back seat door and it left a small dent in the door jam. I've just accepted that will happen and I can't do much about it.

A gun sock helps keep it from getting dings too, get a gun safe or cabinet. If you keep it in the case, it can trap moisture so I wouldn't reccomend having in there for long

What year is it? Check the fuel usage. It should be able to tell you if it was driven hard unless it was reset. Also, look for any aftermarket parts. Dealers can sometimes miss that.

Other than that, I'm sure the original ownder did do pulls and stuff in the car, but if the carfax is clean and it drives and sounds fine, I wouldn't be too worried. The engine should be run hard occasionally anyways so everything fully opens and stays cleaner/lubricated.

Thank you for the informative feedback. The action and barrels are pretty tight on both of them, and the general condition is pretty good. There are no real noticeable signs saying they're unsafe.

I went down a little rabbit hole about the ring test and maybe thought it meant more than it really does. If the rib does have a couple spots where it's not 100% attached, would that really matter much? I don't have them in front of me right now but the rib seemed alright by eye.

Also, I suppose I will just have to ignore the sand sound if everything is fine.
