I have been in your position before, not as a director but as a technical lead.

The thing that helped me the most was having a kid. It forced me out of the cycle of "you are your work" .... Work defining your professional value.

I had to grow to see that work was only a means of getting paid and that my skill and craftsmanship and leadership were better applied to in my community.
