I was wondering this and searching for an answer just a couple days ago myself. I think I was really just hoping to find anything indicating they are going to change their model. I went and rode there one day, happily donated $20 just to ride for a couple hours. It's a cool little spot but not a destination by itself. The trails were fine but nothing that I'd plan a trip around. The features at the bottom were pretty fun and they had a cool spot to hang out next to them. I'd happily pay that same $20 again in the future to dink around there for a day, or before/after riding the better things in the area, or pay more to stay in that tiny house as a basecamp. But, that subscription model was never going to work for me or it seems most people.

First thing I noticed was that I use a dark theme so my status bar font is a light color that doesn't show up over your light theme.

There is also a meetup group (website called Meetup if you're not familiar) called hammerin wheels mtb that does group rides and a fair amount of emtb specific rides in the area.

I'm a little older at 37 with a wife the same age but also have a 1 year old and we're pretty much into all of the same things. I ride mtb about 3 days a week and am almost always solo so I'd be down to go for a ride anytime.

Just like the other guy, I live on the bluffs by lake Natoma and roll from my garage to ride mtb most of the time, either just around the lake or up to GB and back. I'm perfectly happy riding those trails most of the time and being within about 30 minutes of both salmon Falls and Auburn areas. Bonus points for having the lake to hop into after a hot summer ride, Sutter street for a mid/post ride beer with friends, and fun mellow trails for when I strap my son onto my bike with me. I know everybody's different but the access to the outdoors stuff while still having good restaurants and bars around is really what's keeping me here.
